~Chapter Four~

~InuYasha's P.O.V~

I was woken up, by Shippo screaming in my face. I punched the top of his head. "Ow!" "What's with all the screaming!?!" "(y/n)'s missing!" It took me a minute to take this all in. "What!? Why didn't you tell me sooner!?" "Because, you're such a heavy sleeper." I then stood up, and started searching for (y/n). I can't believe I let (y/n) get taken so easily.

I've been searching for about an hour now. If I don't find (y/n), she might be dead. Okay, let's not think like that. I then heard someone walking. And the scent....It belonged to....(y/n)! I then raced towards (y/n). I found her sitting near a stream. "(y/n) I've been looking all over for you!" When I got closer though, I heard crying.

Okay, now I'm confused. Why is (y/n) crying? I walked up to her, to see her full out bawling. I brought her in for a hug. "What's wrong? You can tell me." Though she didn't answer. She just continued to cry.

It was about thirty minutes before (y/n) answered. "I'm afraid to die. I don't want to lose my friends. And most importantly, I don't want to lose you..." This kind've shocked me. Sure, I knew (y/n) didn't want to die, but I didn't know she was afraid of dying. Come to think of it, (y/n) hasn't ever showed a sign of fear. Sure, she gets scared, but this is something different. It's like...Hmm, how do I put this? She was straight out terrified.

"Don't worry (y/n), I won't let you die." "You sure?" "Yes, I'm sure." "Good..." (y/n) then fell asleep. Guess the poison is tiring her out. Another reason we must hurry to find this Selena person. I then picked up (y/n), and carried her back to the group. After getting back together, we continued our journey to Selena's. The main question that's on my mind is who sent this scorpion demon after (y/n). For, I should've been able to sense its presence. So, this means that someone knew about my enhanced senses, and was able to work around it. And another question is why? Why would this person want to kill (y/n)?
