One month of hard work and studying has passed by, after the little incident with Bradley happened I've done my best to hide away and ignore him as much as I possibly can. Whenever he walks past me he gives me a quick look over from head to toe then smirks and walks off, and let me tell you that I've tried not to blush or smile but it's impossible. It's been long since I've connected with Nina, yes she comes to school and I see her but I don't have those deep conversations with her like we used to and there isn't much time we can spend time with each other so there's not much to talk about lately.School ended about 10 minutes ago and I decided that I wanted to walk home because I'm not In the mood of talking to people. As I walk home I decided to take a different way and look around the neighborhood since I've actually never taken an adventure in this town so things are new.
I notice there was a cute park where people walked their dogs and kids laughing while their parents take pictures to save the memory of their child having fun on the jungle gyms, I also notice a cute book shop across the road so I took the opportunity to take a look inside.
The door bell rang as I opened the door and I was greeted with a homey environment and the smell of old books, yes I know, who the hell likes the smell of old books? Well, some people like the smell of petrol or the smell of rain hitting soil. I was suddenly pulled out of my day dreaming when I heard an elderly female voice call me out.
"Hello dear, how may I help you?" A old lady appeared with the biggest smile on her face and I promise you her smile was contagious cause out of no where I started smiling.
"Hello, I was just wondering around and wanted to see what was inside" I replied politely.
"Okay sweetie, take your time and if you find anything you like you can come to the front and I can ring it up for you." She said sweetly and I said thank you as she walked off and let me wonder around the shelves.I let my fingers graze the spines of the books as I walked passed and smiled to myself as I remember all the books that I've read we're on the selves,
John green, Jeffery Deaver, Patricia Cornwell, Lee Child, Cassandra Clare, Stephan King, Stephanie Meyer, and William Shakespeare. I reached out for a book and read the description as I walked to the bean bags laid out and threw my bag pack next to it and sat down.I was so engrossed with the book that I didn't notice it was dark outside until the old lady tapped me out of my adventurous book.
"Dear, it's late shouldn't you be getting home now? I don't want a beauty walking home this late, and I need to lock up soon. Would you like me to ring up your book while you get you bag?" She smiled at me with a worried expression due to the time.
"Sorry, yes please and thank you ma,am" I smiled politely as I gave her that book.
"You can call me Peggy, dear." She said with a warm smile.
"Oh, thank you...Peggy" I tried testing the name in my tongue as I reached for my bag and she scanned my book in the system.
"Thank you very much Peggy, I'll see you soon." I smiled as she gave me the book.
"It's a pleasure, what's your name?"
"Oh sorry, my name is Cassandra but some people call me Cassy" she smiled and believe me when I say I tried to stop smiling but I couldn't, it was so contagious!
"Well, good night Cassy and I hope to see you soon" I left the shop and walked down the path when I noticed that I was a block away from home.I took out my keys and unlocked the door and I found my mom and dad sitting on the couch looking at me.
"Cassandra where have you been!" My mom yelled at me.
"I took a different route to come home and found a library and got a book, I stayed there for a while and forgot the time, sorry." I put the book up in the air to show them that I was surly at the library but fortunately my dad looked fine but my mother on the hand looked pissed as hell.
" I've been trying to call you but you don't answer you phone! Do you understand that if it was an emergency I wouldn't get a hold you? Why did I even get you a phone if you don't even answer my calls?!" To be honest with you I muted her out when she finished the first sentence. She kept on shouting at me and after each sentence I just said 'sorry' and 'I won't do it again' till she calmed down a bit.
"Don't you have something to say honey?" She asked my dad, but my dad wasn't even focused he managed to turn on the Tv and get a beer while my mom was busy shouting at me.
