Chapter 11

*Liam's POV*

I pulled out of the parking lot, sighing of relief. Not from leaving Harry like that, because he looked so upset. And that made me upset, just to see him like that. Anyway, I was relieved to finally (and hopefully) get a chance to move on from Andy. With this Tom Daley person; not Harry. Harry knows Tom, though. I wonder how...

Not important now, Liam. Just focus on getting to the restaurant to start the date. Hopefully it goes well.

When I finally pulled into the parking lot of Red Lobster, I got out of my car and straightened my shirt. I walked in the restaurant, being greeted by a waiter.

"Reservation?" he asked.

"Uh, yes, I think so. It might be under my name, 'Payne', or 'Daley'. Maybe even 'Tomlinson' or 'Horan'. Could you check for those?" I asked lamely, wanting to hit myself for that.

"Sure," he said nicely, with a smile and checked the list. "There's one under the name of 'Dal- "

He was cut of when a fit guy with brown hair and eyes, and a cute face walked up to me. "Daley. He's with me, Rob. Hi Liam; I'm Tom."

"Tom? Oh, right. My date...Sorry about not knowing you," I said lamely, mentally slapping myself.

Tom chuckled and led me to our table near the back. Rob, the waiter, followed us and gave us 2 menus. "It's fine. Not that well-known around campus. Unlike you."

"How do you know me?" I asked, glancing at the menu, then back at him.

"How could I NOT know you? Everyone pretty much knows the hot library assistant," he said with a wink.

I blushed and looked down at the menu. "That can't be true," I muttered to myself. "Have we met before?"

"As much as I would've liked to meet you before, no we haven't. To be honest, when I knew about you, I liked you a lot. But then I found out you were with Andy, and I wouldn't do that to him," he said, making me looking back up at him.

"You know Andy?" I asked, being more interested now in all the information he actually knew about me.

"Yeah. Found out when I asked about you; whether or not you were single," he said with a shrug.

"You asked about me? Am I that interesting to people?" I couldn't help but ask.

"To me, yeah, you are interesting. You're a hot library assistant, but you're not shy or quiet really. You don't keep to yourself, but you also don't socialize much. Other than with Louis and Niall, of course. And Andy when you two were dating," he said.

"Yeah, you're right there. To be honest, I wasn't that excited about this date. Not because of you. I mean, we don't know each other yet, but...It's kinda hard to get over my relationship with Andy," I admitted.

"Understandable. how long were you with him?" he asked, sounding curious.

"A year. Then he had to move away, so we broke up," I said.

Tom nodded and looked down at his menu. I followed suit and chose my meal. He looked up and asked me if I'd chosen something and I told him I have. He motioned Rob over and we gave him our orders. He took our menus and left us to talk some more.

"So, Liam, what are you majoring in?" he asked to start another conversation.

"Not quite sure yet, but gym interests me," I replied. "You?"

"Well, not sure if Niall and Louis told you, but I'm a diver," he said.

"They did tell me. How is that?" I aksed out of curiosity. Then a mental image popped in my head of how he would look like when he was diving, wearing a speedo. Hmm...Probably hot. - Liam, focus!
