Chapter 2:
I dropped the spoon that was in my mouth.
No. Way.
I let a big smile cross my face. My mother could clearly see it and she smiled. "So that's a yes?" She asks, and I nod rapidly. "Your appointment is December 27th. And depending on your father's attitude, and his condition, you may want to pack extra clothes. You're going to Axyn's, correct?"
Axyn. His name left a tingling feeling inside me. Probably because he's my one and only friend, and actually understands me. Plus I haven't seen him in a while, and the fact that I'll most likely be spending Christmas with him...so...yeah.
I don't have a crush on him or anything! He's been my friend forever!
"Are you?" My mom seems to be getting annoyed, and she does that often. So I'm obedient. My father doesn't think the same way though. I nod rapidly, and finish up my meal, before packing.
I grab 2 bags. The first is my black duffle bag, and the other is my blue duffle bag. I grab the basic stuff, clothes, a pillow, a blanket, self-care items, and my Xbox with some games and 4 controllers. I don't know how I can do that, but I did. Oh, and my gaming chair. Its a chair made our of bungee cords and really is comfy. Even though it may not sound comfy - and sometimes it isn't - it's bouncy!
I head downstairs, and am about to leave. I grab the knob and start to turn it.
"You don't say hello to your father?" His deep voice slurs before grabbing onto the back of my collar. The smell of alcohol lingers on him. My nose wrinkles at this stench. "Before you leave? That's very rude." He quickly turns me around, and I don't fight back. "Where do you think you're going?" His hand tightly grips the front of my collar, lifting me up off the ground a bit. His light blue eyes stare into my sapphire blue. His voice boomed a bit louder.
"Answer me! Where are you going?!" I flinched, and he let a smirk onto that actor face of his. He wasn't acting now, for sure. He raised his free hand up, like he was about to smack me. I closed my eyes, waiting for the impact.
"She can't speak Ryan!" My mother yells. My father turns around and gives her an evil eye. That was scary too.
"Bullshit!" He hollers, before turning back to me. SLAP. My cheek stung, and was probably bright red. Tears started forming in my eyes, and I went to ask if he could stop, though I couldn't.
"Stop it!" My mother shrieked. My father let go of my collar, leaving me to fall to the floor with a thud and my head colliding with the glass on our door. Unfortunately, my head went though the glass and I could feel the blood trickling down my head. Spears were around my neck, almost touching and cutting. From the things I could see, I saw my mother being dragged down the stairs, into the basement.
I shivered. I've been down there before...it's an abuse chamber. It's worse when he is drunk. When he's sober, he uses it, but as his get away cave. He practices with his weapons. I'm afraid what he's gonna use on my mother now, even though I don't really care. I need to get myself out, and quick.
I understand they are my "parents", but I don't care for them much. More my mom than my dad.
I punched the glass above my head, and it shattered. None of it injured me, but they definitely slid into my shirt. I had enough space to get out now. Bending my body - in a way I did not like, - I got out with ease. Before I did anything else, I shook my shirt out and shards of glass fell everywhere.
In seconds, I grabbed my bags and ran out the door. Starting my navy charger, I drove to Axyn's. His mother was used to dealing with stuff the cheap way, and was better then your average doctor.
