I want to join the stars.
Astronomy has always been interesting to me. I don't know why but it has. Ever since I was little. My mom and dad used to take me to the park on summer nights.
My dad would place me on his shoulders and my mom would stare at the stars with bright eyes. After the park we would go out to Friendly's and get dinner and ice cream.
We were happy then.
My mom and dad were together until I was thirteen. When my dad left for a twenty three year old blonde bimbo. I haven't seen my dad since.
I was broken my mom was too. But no matter who talked to me I wouldn't tell them how I was feeling. I don't know why but I never did.
All I could think about it when can I join the stars.
I'm sixteen now and I'm still trying to figure out that question. My mom is worried about me. She won't say but you can tell by the look on her face when I turn down extra food or add an extra bracelet to my collection.
My friends well they're great, the best ones I can ask for I practically live at my best friend Emily's house. But I won't tell her either. I'm actually on my way to her house right now and-
"Hey watch where you are going!" A boy around my age says he has dark brown hair tan skin and dark eyes that look soft.
" I'm sorry! I was writing something down and I wasn't paying attention!" I exclaimed. He looked at me up and down.
" listen I'm sorry for yelling I wasn't really paying attention myself." I felt a weight get lifted off my shoulders when he said this. "How come I've never seen you around?" He asked
"Ummm I don't know how old are you?" I say not knowing what to in its place.
"I'm 17"
"I'm 16" after I said this I tried to leave and get to Emily's but he started walking with me. "What are you doing?" I asked
"Isn't it obvious I'm walking with you." He said with a duh tone.
" I know but why?" I'm a little weirded out by this I mean who would want to walk with me.
"I want to learn more about the pretty girl in front of me that apparently does not have a name." When he said this I couldn't help but laugh my only genuine laugh in a long time.
"Nova Clara, that's my name don't wear it out." I surprise my self when I said this I haven't heard that much confidence in me since I was ten.
"Wow that is a unique name, I don't think I could ever say it too much. My name is Anthony Randle. Don't wear it out." Finally a name so I don't have to call him hot stranger. "Well I have to get going. Bye super Nova." He almost yells.
"Bye" I said and we were on our separate ways.
