Chapter 5
Night after night I would come back and watch over Julian. Soon I started hiding in the shadows of the days to watch over her.
This tiny child has captured my attention and I mean to protect the fragile girl.
Each night she pleads to hear a story to help her fall asleep. Each night I tell a story about a different monster.
She tells me she knows I watch her durning the day.
I tell her I won't interfere unless absolutely necessary.
She tells me I am her only friend.
I tell her as is she.
As the years went by with Julian she slowly turned into a bright young women with a knowledgeable perspective on life. Each day it gets harder for me to visit her.
My heart that I haven't felt in years aches at the thought of loosing my friend. But I push it away. Children grow up all the time. She is no different.
The other monsters tired to threaten my authority because hey saw me as weak with her. But I quickly quietened them with a fierce show of my power over them.
But, my connection to Julian was slipping.
