"Did you just draw that?" Ally, a girl in seventh bell science asked. She looked down at my drawing in awe.
"Yes." I smiled tentatively and turned to the front of the room. Science is my favorite subject so I listened all I could. We were having a test on stars. I already knew everything about them.
Some people think I'm unintelligent because I never raise my hand for a correct answer or participated in a group. I've never liked keeping pace with slower people then myself. My mind raced ahead, therefore my work was done quickly. After the easy, straightforward test, I took out my Sketchbook and scribbled a hand reaching for something she couldn't have. Tears still linger in my eyes and my heart ached.
The bus ride was very quiet. I stared out of the window dejectedly at the farms and old houses. I would rather be surrounded by students then the small, claustrophobic walls of our apartment. I pulled my hood up to cover my face from the falling rain. In about 30 minutes I had all of my homework done. My chores were completed. Feeling inspired, I sprinted to my room to play a little piano. I wasn't the best, but only because I played by ear. Gosh, I sound like a nerd?
**A few days later**
Miles hurt my sisers feeling, evidently. She runs out of rehearsal in tears because Miles asked out a girl in front of everyone. I wouldn't have cared if I didn't feel everything she did. Like the anguish and and heart stomping pain she feels currently. I followed her as she exited and we circled the hallways, twice.
"Ugh, that was such a dumb thing to do!" I said to her irritatingly. Kasey wasn't the type to show emotion of any kind, but when she did it cut me deep. She wiped her eyes with shaky fingers and walked back into the auditorium with some pride.
"You know what?" She whispered to me as she climbed the steps.
"What?"
"I'm not going to let him get to me anymore." She said with confidence.
God, I wish I could say the same thing.
