"Sometimes you meet a person and you just click--you're comfortable with them, like you've known them your whole life and you don't have to pretend to be anyone or anything." - Alexandra Adornetto
3. Go on a first date
I woke up startled by the loud notification sound that emitted my phone. I reached over and grabbed my phone. My eyes widen when I saw that it was a text from Will. I quickly unlock my phone and read the text.
W: Rise and shine Ellie boo! Today is the day for you to complete your dare! Wear something casual and definitely grab a hoodie, it's a bit chilly today. I'll come by and pick you up @ 9:00 :) P.S. Could you send me your address?
I smiled, he was so cute! I texted him back before I quickly got out of bed to get ready. After two months of waiting for this moment, it finally arrived.
E: Morning Will! I'll be ready. C you @ 9:00 :) It's 15105 Golden Terrace Lane, Chino Hills.
I jumped in the shower and speedily wash my hair and body with my favorite strawberry scented products. I blow dried my hair and brushed out the knots of my caramel colored hair before curling my hair and clipping back a little braid on the side. I then applied minimal makeup: mascara, lip balm and a dust of blush on the apples on my cheeks. Now it was time to choose an outfit. Will did say something casual. I picked out a simple floral printed dress paired with a light denim jacket. Once I was dressed and ready to go, it was already 8:30 which means that I had 30 minutes to eat breakfast. I made my way downstairs to the kitchen an extra bounce in my step and made myself a quick and simple bowl of Lucky Charm cereal.
As I was eating my breakfast, Max walked in the room, still in his pajamas with his hair disheveled. "What are you doing up so early on a Sunday El?" he questioned me. I gasped, "I forgot to tell you! Will and I are hanging out today." Max winked, "Oh really? That's cool, have loads of fun little sister. But um...El? Um...do not do anything...you know...PG18." I giggled at the awkward expression that appeared on my brother's face, "Don't worry Max, I won't do anything inappropriate." Max let out a sigh of relief, "Great, well then I'm just going to grab a bowl of cereal before mom makes breakfast so that I don't starve." I laughed, "Good idea bro!"
The doorbell rang just as I finished washing the dishes and I ran to open it. When Will saw me his whole face lit up like a kid's on Christmas day, "Good morning Ellie! Are you ready to go?" I smiled, "Almost. I just need to take my medicine and then I'm all set! Please, come in!" I ushered Will inside and quickly closed the door behind him, trapping the chilly morning air out. "Good morning mate!" exclaimed Max. Will smiled, "Aye! morning mate, how are you doing?" Max grinned, "Been doing good dude, how about you?" Will looked at me and gave me the most breathtaking smile, "I've never been better." All my insides literally melted, why does he have to be so damn attractive? "Will, have you eaten yet?" I questioned, a slight blush evident on my cheeks. "Yeah Ellie, don't worry." I smiled and took my medicines quickly so that we can head out.
"Ready to go now?" Will asked me. I grinned, "Yep, let's go!" I slipped on my Uggs boots and we headed out the door after yelling out a quick goodbye to Max. Will's car was a fancy looking sports car, it was a light grey color and has two black stripes going down on the hood. "Ellie, meet Barbara." I raised my eyebrow, "Barbara? That's the best you've got? I feel sorry for your future children if that's the type of names you like." Max glared at me playfully, "Hush, don't judge my baby." I laughed and raised my hands up in surrender. "Barbara, don't listen to Ellie, you have a beautiful name," he told his car, petting the hood. I rolled my eyes, both my brother and Will need to get help to get over their obsession with babying their cars.
When Will finally finished goo-gooing his car, he unlocked the car and opened the door for me like the gentleman he is. I got it and immediately, the fresh smell of peppermints and apples filled my nose, the smell comforted me. Will closed the passenger door after me and walked over to his side. He got in and before he started the car, he took out a red bandana. I gave him a questioning glance, "What are you going to do with that? Please don't tell me that you are going to blindfold me. I don't like being blindfolded Will!" He grinned and said, "Hush Ellie, just turn towards me." I did as I was told and shifted my body so that it was facing him. Will tied the bandana, covering my eyes, leaving me in complete darkness. "So dark..." I mumbled. Will chuckled, "Yes Ellie it sure is, now sit back and relax. It's going to be a long drive."
