When we speak of the enchanting phrase “Mother Earth,” we are saying something of superior significance. Earth is indeed our mother who sustains life and gives essence to our existence by providing us with the fundamental necessities we need each day. It is the only planet in our solar system on which life exists with incredible biodiversity. The noble Mother Earth has bestowed mankind with an astounding and a mesmerizing environment in the form of natural resources that leads humanity towards sustainable development.
However, the world today has become vastly different from what it was before urbanization and industrialization had taken its toll on the world. Since the turn of the new millennium, the issue of the environment has suddenly evolved into a widespread issue which is greatly discussed throughout the world. No longer are humans living in a world where the environment is serene and green but much rather becoming unrecognizable and diminishing before our eyes can see. Human beings began contaminating and causing immeasurable pain to our beautiful Earth without realizing that they are giving themselves invitation to the termination of their own existence. Almost all of us have really stopped maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in our environment, without knowing the consequences that might happen in our surroundings. Consequently, our environment is slowly disappearing due to the different activities of man that contribute to the pollution of our environment. It is truly saddening to visualize how our home is being befouled from both ends as the rivers are running dry. It is so appalling what humans have become. What happened to us fellow humans? Have we become blind? Or simply we couldn't anymore appreciate what Mother Nature has done for us after all. Let our answers to these questions be NO!
“Be the change that you want to see in this world.” Indeed! This quotation has been inspiring me for many years until now. It serves as my motivation to make a large contribution in our environment. Before we change others, we must first change ourselves. There are many ways that we could do to sustain a green and clean environment. You can reduce the amount of waste you produce by buying products in bulk, rather than in individually wrapped containers. You can also reuse things. Before you throw broken things away, see how much it would take to repair them. Recycle materials such as plastic bottles and tin cans into something creative and innovative. Donate used clothes, furniture, toys, and books to charity. We must not litter. Instead, we should dispose and segregate garbage properly. Save environment from pollution. We should plant new trees and avoid illegal-logging. The schemes afforestation and reforestation should be wholeheartedly supported to attain a green encvironment. Minimize air pollution by reducing harmful emissions. Ban use of CFC-releasing materials. We must not also smoke and burn plastic. Using environment-friendly vehicles that dont produce pollutants is a good way too reduce pollution in air. Rather than commuting, we can walk or use bicycle to go near places to reduce air pollution. Conserve water. Water is life. It is the basic necessity for every human being living on this planet. We can stop throwing wastes into open water bodies. At home, we can use water cautiously and ensure that it doesn’t get wasted. We shouldn't also pollute our oceans and forbid dynamite, cyanide, and other harmful types of fishing.
Our desire for sustaining a clean and green environment represents a powerful sense of destiny and hope for the future. We must have our own contribution to the development and innovation of the world even in our own simplest ways. Even by disposing garbage in its proper places and by planting trees, we can make a huge difference in our environment. It isn't really hard to perform these activities, so we must do these daily because nothing hinders us from accomplishing these if we truly treasure Mother Earth.
Our journey hasn't come to an end yet. There is still a glimmer of hope left for us. I believe and will always believe that we can save and protect Mother Earth if and only if we, as a whole, would work together in order to correct our wrong doings, value our nature, and discover creative and innovative ways on how to maintain a clean and green environment. We can restore Mother Earth's beauty into its original form if we'd show our willingness in immortalizing our love for our Mother Earth. Mother Earth is calling us for her protection. It is now time to save our planet from the challenges which are threatening the existence of our beloved Mother Earth. Let's all save Mother Earth by sustaining a clean and green environment!
