[Author's note: We're so close to 500 reads on this story! I'm really excited for this milestone and will prob. be writing a long rambly message about how much this means to me soon. so look forward to that, and for now, enjoy this story!]

It had ben three weeks since Tyler's death, and winter had just started to recede. Rick and his group were on the road again, driving to nowhere. Rachel was the one driving, with Samantha holding Daniel and riding shotgun, and Rick and Zeb in the back. Rick was still healing from the wounds he had sustained during his fight with Arthur, but he was fine for the most part. It was early morning and Rick was passed out cold, with Zeb sitting next to him, looking out of the window.

Behind them, Rachel knew, rode Quentin, Ashley and Nicholas, in a smaller Beetle car. Both the cars they had found after their ordeal with Arthur's group had been old, run-down and nearly dead, but they had stayed alive, till now.

Rachel kept her eyes on the road, avoiding the occasional burnt out car-wreck and mangled Zombie. The road was dotted with Zombies who had been unfortunate enough to have been run over by vehicles, and they were stuck to the floor by their own guts and mangled bodies. Rachel didn't care much for these Zombies though and continued to drive on, her mind noting the beauty of the day.
The coldness of winter had begun to die down, but small patches of frost still dotted the street, and the trees glistened with dewdrops reflecting the pleasant light of the winter sun. After what they had been through, this scene, accompanied by the pleasant coolness of morning was like heaven on earth.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

90 DAYS TO DIE

  PART#2: THE FARM

Rachel was jolted into the present as gunshots echoed through the forest. Rick woke up with a jolt and asked, "What the heck is going on?" they heard a distant shout out for help.

"We have to go there!" Said Rachel, "There could be people, a settlement!"
Normally Rick and Zeb would have opposed this suggestion, but with the isolation that had come after nearly six months of isolation on the roads made them decide to take the chance.

Rachel signaled the car behind them, and the group drove towards the direction of the sound.

Rachel was driving at full speed down a dirt road some ways away from the main highway. The sounds of gunshots became more pronounced and Rachel drove on, the car shuddering and jumping on the poorly-kept dirt road.

"There!" Rick shouted as they neared a large clearing in the forest, in the middle of which stood a house. The house had a weak, barb-wire fence around it, and in front of that fence, a man stood with a shotgun, shooting at a large horde of Zombies!

Rachel drove to the man, stopping a small ways away from him. The man raised his gun at the car. The moment the car stopped, Rick and Zeb got out, raising their hands. "Don't worry. We're here to help."

"Fat load of good that's going to do" the man said, his gun still raised at them. In one swift movement, Zeb pulled a small pistol from his pocket and shot a Zombie straight through the head!
"So you're not bad with a gun..." the man said, "Or that was just a lucky shot." He swung the butt of the shotgun at a Zombie that had come too close.

Behind them, the second car stopped and everyone got out, and starred in shock at the large Zombie horde. It stretched almost all the way to the edge of the clearing and must have consisted of nearly a hundred Zombies! They were shambling towards the house, walking over the grass that grew on the clearing, and over the corpses of the fellow undead who had been killed by the man.
