The sun beat down mercilessly on the group as they foraged the empty cars that littered the highway, searching for gas and spare parts.
The group had been on the road for the better part of five days now, when the RV suddenly broke down in the middle of the road, on one of the hottest evenings the group had ever experienced. Allen was siphoning gas out of a dusty old convertible and could feel beads of sweat stream down his face and back.

The rest of the group was close by; Xavier was in the RV, reading a book, Caramel was helping George fix the RV while Colin and Frank searched the cars. Allen was in charge of siphoning gas, as their fuel situation was surprisingly dire.

Allen removed the siphon from the car's gas tank and sealed off the jug in which he had been collecting the gasoline. He picked up the jug and surveyed the area.
One side of the highway was a large expanse of deep green grass, studded here-and0there with medium to large sized bushes. Allen saw a couple trees and the ever-present Zombies, but nothing out of the usual. On the other side of the road was a dense forest.
The sky was a lovely blue with hardly a cloud in the air, and if it wasn't so bloody hot, this would have been a great day.

Allen sighed and walked towards another car, a white Hyundai Tucson, whose front had been severely dented. Its windshields were cracked, and Allen saw something move inside.

A zombie slowly got up from the back seat, its rotting eyes fixed on Allen. It reached over to the door and slammed itself against the window, snapping its mouth open-and0shut. The glass cracked open and the Zombie lurched towards Allen, but he was prepared as he slammed his machete into the Zombie's head, cutting it in half.

Allen pulled the Zombie out of the car and looked inside it for any supplies. Sadly, he found none. So, he decided to see whether the car had any fuel left that he could siphon.

He put the siphon tube into the gas tank, sucked the other and then jammed it into another bottle and watched as the bottle filled up with gasoline. Allen wiped his sweaty face with his hands as he waited for the bottle to fill.

As Allen sat there, squatting on the road, a shadow moved up behind him, and before he could react, Allen felt his back erupt in pain!

Allen collapsed onto the baking asphalt as he felt warm blood stream down his back. A hand pressed him flat against the road and not too far away, Allen heard the sounds of screaming.

The pressure on his neck grew as Allen tried to thrash his way free, but the blood-loss from the wound on his back was making him weak. The person holding him down brandished a bloodied machete right next to Allen's eyes and spoke in a demented voice, "Stay still little man. We don't want our dinner dying on us now do we?"

OUTBREAK

  PART#6: DINNERTIME

The man grabbed Allen hard and dragged him across the road the RV. Allen felt his back sear with pain as the cut of the machete grazed against the road. The man dragged him roughly and with definite purpose.

Allen found himself supported by Frank, with Caramel, Xavier, George and Colin also present. They were all gagged and bound tightly by their arms and legs. They were kneeling down in front of the RV, and in front of them were four men.
