  Yasmine POV

I was standing on stage being admired by every body. I was getting the attention I always wanted as a child.

My hair was flowing down my back. The crowd clapping and cheering me on. I felt like nothing could stop me now.

I was walking backstage and the walls felt like they were closing in on me. Everyone seem to disappear.

The hallway was getting darker. Arms spread around me squeezing me tight. You could tell he was a man.

He over powered me and cover my mouth before I could scream. Then he told me it would not hurt a bit as he started putting his hand up my shirt.

I woke up to cold water being thrown on me.

"I told your ass to be up and ready by the time I crank the truck!" My father yelled waking me out of my nightmare abruptly.

He walked out of the room without saying another word. I got up and put my jeans and a shirt on. My jeans had rips in the pocket so I could not put money in it.

I was rushing to put my shoes on. The tape had came off the right one.

"Mama my shoe ripped." I mumbled dejectedly

"Here I come." My Mama said, but before she could make her way over to me, my dad came and told me to come on. I was forced to leave with a ripped shoe. My dad had lit his cigar and blew his smoke in my face.

Like any other morning he was smoking on a cigar. He started driving to my new school. I sat wondering why we had to move in the first place. I was originally from Texas.

We pulled up to the school. It was nice but nothing you would really expect.

I walked inside the school and people started to stare and laugh at me. I looked at the ground in shame and embarrassment.

Somebody bumped into me and called me a hoe. Somebody tripped me after that and it cause even more laughing.

Somebody helped me up but I was too deep in my self loathing to look him in the eye.
"Are you okay?"

"Yes I'll be fine." As I was finishing my sentence a girl walked up with her hand on her hip.

"August get away from that hobo." The girl exclaimed making a scene.

"Kela quit calling people names and fuck off bruh." the guy named August retorted

"Remember that." said the rude chick
Me

"I have to find the office so I'll jus...." I started to say feeling very uncomfortable but he cut me off.

"No worries I'll help you I won't take no for an answer."

He started helping me find my way down the hallway. It started making me feel uncomfortable. I wasn't suppose to be around boys according to my dad.

"So what's your name." he said trying to spark up conversation

"You're not suppose to tell strangers your name."

"Well okay, and you are at your destination....until next time." he said with a smirk

"Yeah." I said awkwardly

I went in the office and got my paper with my classes and directions on it. My first class was science.

I went inside while the teacher asked me if I wanted to introduce myself. I simply told her no and took a seat in the only empty desk.

As luck would have it the only empty desk was beside August.

"Soooo same classes."
He said with a goofy grin

"Please stop talking to me my head hurt."

He frowned and looked away. I felt bad for the way I was treating him. He was really sweet but I'm scared of how my father would react if I even looked at a boy let alone spoke to one, especially one as handsome as August.

2 Hours Later

It was time for lunch and I almost got lost.  I made it though.
I sat down and ate the apple I did not get to eat at breakfast. I looked up and saw some guys coming over to where I was sitting, I tried to look away but they sat down and started talking to me.

"Bro you need to quit shopping in the trashcan." One boy snickered

"Is that where you got your pants from too or were they selling them half off." another boy laughed obnoxiously.

They started laughing even harder at the jokes they had made. Tears had formed in my eyes and I started crying.

Then I heard August's voice

"Leave her alone Lonnie, bruh she aint did shit to you." August growled

"Why should I?" Lonnie asked with a smug smile

"Because if you don't leave her the hell alone I'll make you."

August POV

These dudes always messin with the new kids. Even tho she had me in my feelings I could care less, she still didn't deserve to be treated like that. Lonnie's smug ass smile melted into a mug as him and his friends stormed off.
Bitch asses.

Ruby started walking over to the new girl so I took that as my cue to walk away. I didn't feel like dealing with her.
