A Fellowship with Destiny

Prologue

When he walked in the front doors, my desk help, Carrie, moaned,squirmed and her breathing became shallow, while I watched his self assured gait as he approached  the counter, Hank was hauling in his luggage on a cart. He was tall, I would say 6'0, wearing a dark blue western shirt, well fitted tight black jeans, a duster and Tony Llama cowboy boots as his heels tapped on the tile flooring. Since Carrie was to tongue tied I politely stated " Welcome to the "Crossroads Lodge and Guest Ranch" how may I help you sir?" I couldn't see his face due to his black Stetson but when he placed his hands on the counter I noticed some expensive gold rings on both hands and a very nice Rolex on his right wrist. Next I heard was a deep sexy voice softly say" I have a reservation, name is  Dwight Garnett, ma'am." as I nodded and searched today's booking on the computer, turning to him asking" My I have you sign the registration form and would you like to keep this on your American Express sir?" Carrie just smiled at him and when he took his hat off placing it on the counter, running a hand through his hair , I saw nice coal black collar length hair, a well trimmed moustache and the most amazing eyes, as they were deep blue with flecks of silver in them. He nodded yes to me  then turned and smirked at Carrie asking" What's you name miss?".

I chuckled as she stuttered out her name and he also softly chuckled then turned back to me with a questioning look so I said" Ms. Young, the Manager,  here is Mr. Garnett's key card  Hank please show our guest to his suite (nodding to Hank), please contact the desk with any needs or concerns and we hope you enjoy your stay Mr. Garnett." His smile lit up the room while he looked right into my eyes replying "That I will Ms. Young, as I plan on staying here for a nice long spell." I smiled back at him before he turned and followed Hank to the elevators then I looked at the computer screen checking him in to the suite and reading his information. Carrie finally found her voice saying " Boss look at that nice ass and wow his voice, I just couldn't think right." I shook  my head when we both heard a chuckle coming from the direction of the elevators making me frown at Carrie, then said " Carrie go on your break now, I'll watch the desk."

 Hank came  up to the desk when he returned from showing Mr. Garnett to his suite saying " Well pretty lady he has money since he came in driving a spanking new F250 Ford 4x4 truck and that luggage ain't run of the mill neither." I smiled at Hank replying " I  got that impression with the jewelry he wore Hank, is he all set and comfortable?" Hank nodded to me with a smile then mentioned he need to help the guys with rounding up some stray horses that broke a corral fence this morning. I waved him off and reminded him that since we have fifty guests here tonight to let everyone know we will do the dinner bonfire welcome as normal.  He smirked as he nodded then sauntered out the front doors while I went back to checking the bookings, updating  the lodging screen and glanced over the amenities screens that allows me to know what the guests chose with what they would like to participate in each day.

 

I called back to the kitchen to let the staff know we had twenty families this week, which was thirty adults and ten kids, ages  11-16, since we are doing the bonfire welcome dinner so they knew to cook up enough steaks,hamburgers for the kids, baked potatoes, all the fixings with fresh tossed salads and Texas toast for fifty people in all. I rarely get involved in what our chef prepares for meals but  he knew since today was the first of the week, we would have the welcome dinner.  Jeb is a world class chef, that also was hired by the management company, he came here from a small dude ranch somewhere in Montana, and  his prep cooks are Tim and Ben who are local guys from Julesburg so they travel up and down the mountain each day to work here for us along with Carrie who is also from town.
