Heroes Legion: "Year One": Episode 12: Atlantean Dawn!

Chapter 2: Receiving the Message

Heroes Legion Mansion Grounds: December 19th, 2013: 4:30 PM

It was the middle of the beginning stages of winter now in New York, and a small blizzard was currently at work blanketing the city and state in a light and frothy blanket of white.

At the Mansion that was both the Heroes Legions home, and place of office.

Atlanta landed on her feet in about two feet of snow in the middle of the Forestry moat that divided the mansion from the Mansion grounds wall that kept the secret of the Mansion's true purpose a secret to all who lived outside its safety.

She was wearing her Atlantean Armor despite the bitter cold of the Blizzard, and she had something in her hand as she stood there in a defensive position, her eyes looking for something in the white color covered area of the Forestry moat.

She then heard something thrown through the air at her from behind one of the trees from her side, but unfortunately she didn't react fast enough for her to dodge the white ball of snow that was thrown at her.

It struck her cheek and she felt snow fall down into her breastplate section of the Armor that retained sea-water to maintain her Atlantean for lest she revert back to a normal human state, and it made her exclaim in surprise despite all her efforts not to make a scene.

She then heard the chuckling of Raven coming from behind the Tree, and then Atlanta smirked and threw her own snowball.

Raven Ducard jumped out of the way before the Snowball even struck her, and quickly reloaded by grabbing the snow around her with her red mittens and then threw it at Atlanta who did the same.

The two girls threw snowball after snowball at each other, laughing as they did before Raven Ducard who was covered in snow from the top to her waist called a truce.

Atlanta gave it, while also keeping an eye out for the rest of the team (the guys) in case they tried a sneak attack on the both of them.

This was a snowball fight free for all, after all.

She looked at the powdery snow in her hand and smirked.

Never once during those recon missions to the Antarctic area had she or anyone ever thought that the useless white powder called snow could be used for something so fun...just think of the training applications this could have!

"Silicon was right" Atlanta said, "I AM enjoying this"

"So am I" said Raven Ducard, "I mean in the magic realm we only have three seasons, summer, fall and spring. I was always curious about what people in Earth-Realm do with the white stuff that they call "Snow" when it covers the northern hemisphere of Earth. We never saw a need for snow as anything but a weather we didn't need back home"

"Same here" Atlanta said, "When we Guardians did Re-Con missions in Antarctic waters or on Antarctica keeping an eye on human outposts as we set up our own in the process, we saw the snow as nothing but a six foot hindrance"

"I don't get how you're not cold though Atlanta" Raven said rubbing her mittens together, despite their warmth this was her first winter, and she was still adjusting to it.

"Simple" Atlanta shrugged, "Atlanteans adapt to their environment in this form, besides the crushing depths of the sea it also gets really cold at the deepest depths we'd have to be able to adapt to pressure and temperature"
