Ivory

It wasn't like him to ignore me. Or not answer any of his phone calls or texts. But when I found out the reason why he wasn't answering, I understood— and was quite frankly speechless.

As soon as I heard the news, I rushed to the LA hospital. Anxious to find Louis, and see his sad and depressed eyes. It's as if his love for me had vanished into thin air. He didn't want anything to do with me, in fact he wouldn't even let me inside of the room. Which was okay if you knew what it was like to lose someone. He was beyond sad. Luckily I was understanding person.

"Do you ever wonder how terrible things happen to good people," A blonde nurse spoke from behind me, and I wiped away my tears as I looked at her, "Johanna was one of those people."

"Yeah well she shouldn't have died. The last thing this family needs is another death, or drama," I exclaimed, "It's not easy."

"It's probably even harder, having everyone in the world know that your mother has died. And years later. They ask you about it and bring back the same aching feeling," She sighed, "And it starts all over again."

The sad thing was. She was completely right. Louis started smoking a while back, because he needed something to take the ease off. And now that this has happened— I can only imagine the things he's thinking about doing.

It took him an entire day before letting me into the hospital room that Louis lied in. His mother had already been sent to get her body fixed for the funeral. He was inside the room because of his mental situation.

"Hey baby, you need to promise me something," I glided my fingers throughout his hair as his puffy eyes stared up at the ceiling, "You have a son. You have to keep living."

"Please don't say that Ivy.." He mumbled softly, "I just want to be alone."

"You can't be alone forever, I hope you know that."

"What, you think I don't know that?" He scowled, "But I can be alone right now if I want to. So I suggest you leave for good Ivory James."

"I'm not leaving you. I will stay in this very room until you leave this hospital," I assured, "Even if you avoid me the entire time."

He took a deep breath, still parting his lips slightly and just staring carelessly at the ceiling, "I can't believe she's gone Ivy.. I can't think. Breath, or exactly speak."

I didn't respond, and lied on the hospital bed next to him. Wrapping my one arm across his chest, "I love you."

"Listen," He finally looked me in the eye and held my chin, "No matter how dead and broken I feel. I will always love and care about you. Understood?"

"Understood."

The next day we where forced to leave the hospital. Mainly because we couldn't afford another nights visit, and other patients needed to be situated in that room. So I took him back to our house, tucking him in bed as he did the same thing he did at the hospital. Stare at nothing.

"Can I get you something to eat?" I asked, and he let out a deep breath.

"No thank you. Maybe Freddie will make me feel better, can you pick him up from Briana's?" That had to be one the longest sentences he had in a long time. Besides when he said he loved me.

"Okay, good idea," I kissed his forehead and left the room. Grabbing my keys from the kitchen table and walking out of the front door. It worried me leaving him alone in the house, but I wanted to make him happy. So I drove to Briana's house to pick up Freddie.
