Chapter One - What Happened There?
Mark's POV
Great, I always seem to turn up late yo everything, even if i'm up 4 hours before I have to be somewhere i'll be late. I hate it when I walk in to the studio and every guy is looking at me, I think to myself as I try and park my new car with out hitting Robbie's Ferrari. I grab my key and my wallet and slide them in to my pocket before running to the building and taking the stairs up 4 levels. When I push the studio door open, Gary and Robbie are the only ones there,
"Not last for once" Gary smirks, playing a tune with his magical hands,
"Shut up Gaz" I pant, closing the door and leaning on Robbie's shoulder,
"Hope you didn't scratch my car with your shite parking skills" Robbie laughs, tapping me on the leg,
"I was going to, but I got in the spot without hitting anything" I reply, messing Rob's hair up and moving away before he can retaliate. I sit next to Gary on his piano stool and hit out a little melody,
"Hey guys, Jason texted me saying that him and Dougie are going to be in this afternoon because Jason is taking Howard to the dentist" Rob calls over, tapping away at his phone,
"Okay, well we can do the piano stuff this morning" Gary smiles, turning his head and smiling cheekily at me,
"What's that smile for Mr B?" I grin, hitting him with my elbow,
"It's just a smile Markie" He winks. I look down at the sound of the piano to see the familiar sight of Gary's elegant hand movement on the keys.
"As much as we like the piano to A Million Love Songs Gary, we cant' have it for every song" Robbie jokes, walking towards us and putting his hands on Gary's shoulder,
"Less of that cheek Williams" Gary laughs, hitting his hand away.
"Gary..." Robbie pouts from behind us,
"What Rob?" Gary asks, looking up at Robbie,
"I need to go and pick up some smokes" Robbie grins,
"Fine, leave Mark and me to do the piano" Gary laughs, tapping me on the back,
"I love you Gazza" He winks, turning on his heel and leaving Gary and I alone,
"Peace and quiet" Gary sighs happily, resting his head on my shoulder,
"Shall we?" I grin, placing my hand on the piano and hitting a F major key,
"That sounds so good" Gary grins, placing his hand down and playing some keys, "You're getting better Mark" He smiles sweetly at me, raising that famous eyebrow at me,
"Thank you, learn't from the best" I smirk. Trying not to get distracted from my best friends smile, I play some more notes. "Oh shit" I curse as I hit a bum not,
"Here, you were close" Gary smiles, standing up behind me and putting his hands on mine,
"I'm not a baby Gary" I half laugh,
"Shush" He says and I can tell he's smirking at me. He puts my hands on the right keys and pushing my hands down to make an angelic sound,
"That's perfect" I smile,
"Mhm" Gary mumbles. He sits down beside me and after I hit that note a few more times I look up to see his green eyes staring in to mine, he's so close to me that I can feel the blood running through the veins in his arms, and the warmth of his warm breath. I don't know how much time goes by but when I realize that we're staring at each other I clear my throat and turn back towards the piano,
"Shall we carry on?" I mumble, looking back up at Gary who's still staring, "Gary?" I say once more, pulling him out of whatever thoughts he's in. For a second it looks like he leans in to kiss me but he turns his head quickly,
"Yes, give me an F sharp" He says quietly.
What happened today? I ask myself as Gary and I walk down to our cars at about 4pm.
"Wanna come round for a beer later Markie?" Gary smiles at me,
"Yeah, Josie is at her Mum's so i'll be free" I smile, taking out my keys and unlocking my car door,
"Good, How are you and Josie anyway?" Gary asks,
"I don't know Gaz" I sigh,
"Ai, don't worry about it, come around later and i'll keep you busy Mark" He smiles, opening his car door, "See you mate" He winks.
Once i'm in my car and Gary had driven past, i'm left thinking, Gary has never done what he did today, he's probably just bummed about his ex girlfriend leaving him, and maybe worried about mine and Josie's relationship, and the downfall we've taken. Oh well, a beer with Gary will be good.
