riley walked around the upper east side of manhattan with shopping bags all over her arms. a few hours in manhattan and she had already gotten an invite to a socialite party by some girl who was looking for model-like girls to invite to her mom's fashion show.

she froze when someone gripped her arm and yanked her away from the rich, busy people. it was smackle.

"smackle! what are you doing here?!"

smackle scoffed. "me? what are you doing here?"

"i just wanted some riley time."

"why don't you have some riley time with your phone on? maya's called you repeatedly and she's sent us all on a scavenger hunt around new york for you!"

riley blinked. she grabbed her phone from the pocket of her pants and switched it on. she was overwhelmed by the number of notifications.

"yeah, wow." smackle sassed.

"now, come on! are you gonna come with me? i have to tell everyone the hunt for riley matthews is over." smackle joked and riley managed a smile.

"smackle, can i crash at yours?"

"why?" smackle asked suspiciously.

riley grinned. "i got invited to this elite party and if i go home, maya will make me explain everything and i just...wanna let lose tonight."

riley shoved the invitation in smackle's face. "i'll be attending that party too. i'll go with you."
