"god, it's like babysitting a bunch of five year olds."

riley sat up against the headrest of the bed. that particular sentence was replaying in her head over and over again. is that what farkle thought of her? he probably thought she was a drunk slut that only knew how to get drunk and make out with other boys. she was sobering up now and all she wanted to do was go home.

god, she sounded like such an ungrateful bitch. no wonder farkle found her irritating. she really did appreciate him taking care of her but after listening to him on the phone with lucas, she just wanted some alone time where her feelings would not go crazy if she saw him.

just as she was having a debate in her head, her phone chimed off. it was an instagram account that was a hate page specifically for riley.

sluttymatthews : saw riley at jordan's party. she got wasted and made her friends take care of her again. heard farkle sighing as he was carrying her somewhere. riley, no one wants you at this party. why don't you do us all a favor and jump out the window. i'm sure the universe would be much happier.

riley felt a tear slip out from the corner of her eye. maybe the world was better off without her. she shook her head to get rid of those thoughts. she just wanted to shut down. stop herself from overthinking. she closed her eyes and laid down on the bed. the door opened and in came farkle. she could tell from how he was trying to walk quietly but farkle was the loudest person in the world. he couldn't keep quiet to save his life.

"alright, then." she heard farkle's voice as she was being lifted, most probably by him. riley felt herself being put into a car. she pretended to be asleep the whole ride to god knows where. she really wanted to take a peep but farkle was right next to her, fiddling with her hand and she didn't want to risk getting emotional again or her feelings getting out of hand.

she wondered how they were going to sneak her back into her house without her parents noticing. maybe she should just wake up once they stop the car and enter by herself. after all, farkle trying to sneak her in was definitely going to wake up her parents.

when she heard someone get out of the car, she put on a show and woke up lazily. she knew they all bought it. she opened her eyes to reveal...maya's apartment? why were they here? oh no. riley's eyes widened mid yawn as she got out of the car and she felt maya come up behind her.

"for the record, i know you were pretending to be asleep throughout the whole car ride."

riley turned to look at maya who was smirking at her. riley's eyes travelled towards farkle who was talking to a very tired lucas who was trying to get smackle to stay still. maya nodded understandingly.
"just act drunk and follow me."

maya walked over to the struggling boys with riley in tow. she signaled towards riley and riley headed straight towards farkle, throwing herself at him. she didn't want to do this but she knew farkle was the only one who bought her shit.

she stroked his face. "farkley, have i ever told you how much i like your face?"

farkle chuckled and riley wanted to kick herself for doing this. he probably thought she was a joke.

maya stepped up behind her and pulled her away from farkle. "wow! i better put her to bed."

maya tried to move riley that towered over her and lucas took note before staring at farkle angrily.

"oh. oh! um, maya, why don't you take zay and smackle down here with lucas and i'll put riley to bed."

riley sent maya a look that screamed 'help!' but farkle was already picking her up and carrying her. maya ran towards riley but by some twisted fate, she tripped over a pebble and lucas was the one that caught her. he would never let her go now. she mouthed a 'sorry' to riley who was being carried away by a very handsome farkle in shining armor.

once they got into the elevator, farkle put her on the floor gently. riley propped up her knees and rested her forehead on her knees. her long, brown curls covering her face entirely. all in all, farkle thought she looked absolutely stunning. even when she was drunk off her butt.

once the elevator dinged, signaling that they've reached their floor. riley stood up. she stumbled out of the elevator, nearly dropping her phone. that made farkle pick her up and carry her to maya's door.

"shoot! i don't have the keys." farkle cursed in his head as he tried to balance riley.

riley had now began to absent mindedly play with farkle's hair. both her arms were lazily draped around farkle's neck and she couldn't help but to just tune everything out. she really didn't care that they had no keys. she just wanted him to hold her.

she felt her eyes drooping once she heard farkle sigh. riley told herself she wasn't going to let herself fall asleep in farkle's arms but maybe she could just close her eyes for a little bit. she leaned her head against his chest, his heartbeat lulling her to sleep.

farkle sat down beside maya's door and watched riley sleep. sure, it sounded creepy when you said it that way but he was just observing her beauty. taking it all in. wondering how someone as bright as the sun, how someone other worldly and someone so celestial entered his life. soon enough, he fell asleep with his head resting on her forehead, their lips just centimetres apart.

love, l.
