Chapter Three - Kisses and Confessions

Bella's POV

"Relax, it's me. You're being followed. " said a very familiar voice, the one I can never forget.

I feel the electricity in his touch, his left hand on my mouth and the other holding both of my wrists. I feel my face blush, good thing he's facing my back.

I saw the man from the stand earlier. He looks like searching for something.

"I saw you walking and stop by at a stand. When you leave I saw him follow you. He was about to do something, good thing I acted earlier than him. " he whispered, sending chills down my spine. "Oh no! He's heading this way, come. " he spun me around and snaked his arms around my waist, and lead me to the other end of the alley.

"My house isn't far, you can stay there till it's safe for you to go. " he said.

Once we reach the end of the alley, he slows down his pace. Judging from afar, I know we look like lovers.

"Bella, are you okay? Do you feel something? " he asked.

"I'm f-fine. That m-man, I saw him at the stand and I knew that he's been staring at me and I knew I had to leave. I didn't expect him to follow me, t-thank you. " I stammered but good thing I made to say that. He gave me a sympathetic smile which made my heart melt.

Whatever happened to him changed him. He never showed affection but now he's - I realize I've been staring so I avoided his gaze and focus on the road. He pulled me closer to him but I tried my best not to tense. I've embarrassed myself enough, one which I haven't done in my previous life.

We stopped in front of a house. He leads me inside, "Don't worry, if that man is a muggle he won't see us here. This house is invisible to the muggle's eyes. " I simply nodded and muttered a small thanks, but what he did next shocked me.

He hugged me so tight and I feel in his hug an affection. One that he never showed me or any of us.

"This might sound totally crazy but I love you. I know I've already been I just haven't realized it or understood it. " he pulled away and stares into my eyes, I swear I could get lost in it anytime. He touches my right cheek and hugs me again.

"Wait, my L - I mean Vol -" I pulled away from his embrace.

"Tom, call me Tom. It's my real name, no reason to fear me anymore, that man died nineteen years ago. "

"T-Tom, I'm sorry but I don't get what are you up to. Well I know that you can understand love now, I can see that but I can't love you back anymore. " lies lies, protested my mind. He stared at me in disbelief.

"Bella, I know what I've done, how I treated you but -"

"Tom that Bellatrix that's obsessively in love with you and will do anything, even killing, just to please you already died nineteen years ago. I'm not that crazy woman anymore. " it's partly true but I'm still lying to him and myself.

I feel his firm grip loosens, I removed his hands on my waist but what he did next caught me off guard. He cupped my face and kissed me, passionately and fireworks ignited. I feel every movement of his lips tell me how much he loves me, begging me to change my mind and let him love me.

My body betrayed me and I'm kissing him back. Before I knew it, I was lying down on his couch with him on top of me, snogging him like there was no tomorrow.

When we part, I'm catching my breath and he's still on top of me. I tried to push him away a little so I could get up but refused to budge.

"Do you still love me?" he straightforwardly asks.

"Not anymore. " I managed not to stammer and lied to his face.

"You kissing me back says the other way. " once again he kissed me and again I kiss back.

I swear I couldn't stop kissing him but I still need to breathe, I pushed him away. When our lips parted I immediately get up and sit so I wouldn't be tempted to kiss him again. In the corner of my eye, I saw the man from earlier spying on us, he was at the gate watching over us through the window. I know he saw us doing it. I immediately hug Tom hoping he will hug me back which he did.

"Are you letting me in your life again? " he asked.

"The man from earlier is looking at us through your window. " I said ignoring his question. Tom was about to pull away but I hug him tighter. "Please don't provoke him, I know you don't have a wand yet, and neither do I. By the looks of it, he's a wizard. He might've recognized me earlier.

That's why he followed me, but then you came, that might confirm his accusations. "

"Okay, but I won't let you out, stay for a night. Don't worry tomorrow, I'll walk you to your house."

"Tom, about us. I'm sorry I can't... You know. "

"Why? Bella all I want is for you to give me another chance, a chance to -"

"You see Tom, giving you another chance only means making myself vulnerable to pain again."

"Surely I can't promise not to hurt you emotionally but one thing is for sure I'll do my best not to hurt you. If this is about previously, I'm sorry and I'm not gonna stop saying sorry. "

"And I'm also sorry Tom, I'm not gonna deny the fact that you still have this effect on me but you see a reminder of how awful and inhuman I was, is the last thing I want. "

"I fully understand. " he nodded his head.

"You do? " I asked.

"But I'm not gonna give up on you. "

"Tom, please. "

"You never give up on me, when I'm still the most horrible person in history."

"That's because -"

"You chose to love even though you already knew I'm incapable. "

"I was blinded. "

"What made you think I'm gonna give up just because you told me to? "

"Stop it, Tom. "

"You love me without expecting a return and I guess now is my turn."

"Just forget about it Tom, it's not worth it. "

"Most of all, you didn't stop loving me even though I can't do the same, I can't give up, knowing you still feel something for me. I won't. "

"Tom -" he didn't let me finish, he kissed me again. I would be lying if I'd say I didn't kiss back.
