You woke up in the morning next to Jake, and you smiled. You didn't want to wake him, so you quietly crawled out of bed, going to the kitchen to make coffee. You looked at the time and it was only 8 o'clock, yet somehow you didn't feel tired.
You looked out the window at the falling snow, thinking about what Jake told Zach last night. You sat there for at least 20 minutes until you heard footsteps coming from one of the bedrooms. You poured yourself a cup of coffee, and turned to face whoever was up.
"Morning," Zach said.
"Hey, did you have a good date last night?" you asked, pretending like you never heard him and Jake talking.
"Yeah, it was nice," he said as he nodded his head.
"Want some?" you asked, nodding toward the coffee machine.
"Yeah, thanks," he said. You slid a cup across the counter to him, and you guys started talking, mostly about how the hockey season was going.
About 45 minutes later, Jake walked out of his room, looking sleepy... and cute. His hair was all messy, and he wasn't wearing a shirt.. he pulled off the look quite well.
"Hey guys," he said, sitting down on the stool by the counter.
"Morning," you said, handing him a cup of coffee.
You all just sat there in silence for about a minute, until you asked them what was on the agenda for the day.
"Practice today at 4, but nothing other than that," Jake said.
"Cool," you nodded your head.
"Well, I'm gonna go take a shower, let you two be alone for a while..." Zach said, patting Jake on the shoulder as he walked by. Jake just rolled his eyes at him.
"About last night.. I'm sorry for getting so mad." Jake said. "About Eve I mean."
"No, don't be. It's actually so sweet that you feel protective of me," you told him, smiling.
"What should we do until practice?" he asked.
"Well, I have to get a new dress for the banquet.. You know the Children's Hospital fundraiser that you all go to. I was gonna go with Eve.. Not anymore obviously, but I know people at the hospital, and I want to go." you explained.
"Well then we'll go dress shopping for you, and you can come with me to the banquet.. If you want." he said.
"Yeah! Sounds great! I'll go get dressed, we better go now.. I'm quite indecisive when it comes to dresses." you explained happily, and you skipped off to his room to pick an outfit for the day.
