being overshadowed

dear eileen,

do you remember allen? he was my best friend for years and years and everyone absolutely loved him. he had parties and girlfriends and he made everyone laugh, while i stayed in the corner. no one really cared about me, not even him. he was your jane. she's nice, she really is, but when the two of you walked into allen's party, i couldn't keep my eyes off of you. and for the first time, i came out of my corner.

you had these eyes that held everything. your passion and love and thoughts and desires. and as soon as i looked into them, i never wanted to look away. at that moment, the world turned into pointless white noise that was so easily blocked out by your smile. it was rare- your smile, but when i walked up to you and said hello, it came out of hiding.

so you see, these people, this world, it doesn't matter how wonderful they seem, because I've never seen anything more wonderful than you.

love,
hunter.

p.s. you're worth it.
