dear eileen,

do you remember that time your dad lost his job because they said he didn't have a "passion" for it? you cried because he was upset and you came to me for help. we spent the rest of the night eating your cookies and watching crappy television and just laughing to get his mind off of all the bad things.

and right before i left, after you kissed me at the door and walked back to your dad, i waited in the doorway and i saw you hug your dad and smile. and what you said to him, it's something you need to remember for you.

you said, "don't do something because it will make you money or make people impressed, do it because you love it. that's what makes you important: passion."

i don't think you think back on those days. the times when you had the answers. maybe you've forgotten, but i hope i can remind you. because those answers are still inside of you.

all i'm saying is, it's okay not to know what you're doing with your life. and sometimes we don't need all the answers.

i just hope you know how much you helped your dad. because that's how much you could help yourself.

love,
hunter.
