Severus straightened his robes and fixed his hair in the mirror. "Expecting someone are we?" Albus asked from behind him. "Don't start." Severus snapped nervously, causing The old man to giggle. The door knocked and Severus invited Hermione inside. "Miss Granger you look spectacular! I assume you enjoyed the Yule Ball?" Albus asked with a beaming smile. "I did thank you Professor Dumbledore, and thank you for the compliment." Hermione grinned. "I think you can call me Albus now don't you? Now I know why Severus was preening himself like a peacock before you arrived!" He chuckled, Hermione grinned and looked at Severus with a smirk. "My love, shall we go through to my chambers? Only I think Albus needs to be left to his own devices." Severus groaned, Hermione nodded and walked towards his chambers with him following close behind. "Severus, Don't forget to use a contraceptive charm. It's imperative!" Albus called out in hysterics, Severus glared at him and threatened to put a sheet over his painting as if he was a noisy parrot.

Once in his private quarters Severus pulled Hermione onto the sofa next to him, she brought her lips to his but he pulled back. "I need to talk to you first my love." He insisted and Hermione nodded for him to continue. "I know you are aware now about the reasons I kept my feelings unsaid." "You were afraid, I understand." Hermione smiled. "You deserve the truth, it was Harry's mother Lily, but she only ever saw me as a friend. Remember how I told you about my reasons for hating Harry?" Severus asked, "It wasn't just his father bullying you and stealing your best friend....you loved her." Hermione was shocked, his hatred for Harry made even more sense now. "I never thought I would love again until I met you." He sighed, "you've been alone all these years?" Hermione asked, scanning his face with her brown eyes. "I never thought I'd find someone who could compare." He said sadly. "And now you have me, and I do compare?" She blushed feeling honoured. "No my love, you are beyond comparison. Lily didn't compare to you." Severus smiled stroking Hermione's soft lips with his fingers, watching his own digits trace them perfectly. Hermione felt herself tearing up and kissed him slowly. He didn't stop her this time and put all his heart into the moment. "There's more..." He said stopping their kiss.
Hermione looked at him, she was filled with worry about what was to come.
"I want you to know that I'm so sorry for my aggression towards you, I will never forgive myself for harming you. And I promise I will never physically hurt you again." Severus vowed on his life. Hermione brought her lips to his again and pulled him closer to her.

Severus ran his hands over her as they deepened their tryst, pushing himself against her to show her how much he wanted her in his bed, Hermione moaned and bit her lip while looking at him seductively.
