My eyes met the pack's leader. Hello, child of the gods, said a melodic voice in her head. At first I thought I had lost it, but then the pack leader sat and the rest lay of their stomachs.

I had the sudden urge to kneel in front of the wolf. I dropped to one knee and bowed my head. A demigod with actual respect. Thank you, huffed the voice. You may speak. At first I was nervous, then I looked up and asked,"Who are you?" The voice chuckled.

I am Lupa, the wolf goddess, Mother of Rome. I guide Roman demigods to Camp Jupiter. I nod slightly and the wolf cocked her head to one side.  But you, my dear, are a different story. I frowned and straighted my back."What do you mean? Roman? Demigod? What's Camp Jupiter?" I asked, maybe too many questions.

The wolf snapped her teeth at me, but I was used things like that. Too many questions, we must get moving. I shall answer your questions when we are there, said the voice. I blinked and realised that the wolf was talking, but before I could say anything else, the pack rose and run off into the forest. I ran after them.

Warning: if you ever decide to going running through the forest at night, don't. Just don't. As I ran, the pack closed in around me. Which means that everytime  I was lacking pace, they would snap at my heels, often drawing blood. Or everytime I tripped over something I couldn't see, I would get barked and growled at.

And I think I ran into a tree, like, 5 times? It hurt. By the time we got to there, I was covered in cuts and bruises. "We couldn't have just walked?" I pant. Yes, but running gets us to place faster, chuckled Lupa as she sat around a campfire. I looked around. There was a beautiful place.

There was a cave on the right and trees circled the clearing. In the middle sat a bonfire. I wonder how they got it started, I thought. The rest of the pack walked off to the cave to sleep. Some gave me very dirty looks. Sit, child. We have much to discuss. I slowly lowered my self onto the wet ground.

Lupa began to lick her paw. I had a hard time getting my head around the fact that this wolf was a goddess. Suddenly she spoke, well in my head anyway. Your father sent me to help you. I frowned and asked,"My father? Is he a god?" Lupa nodded. My mouth fell open.

I was shocked. My dad, a god? This has to be some sick joke. But a wolf's talking to me through telepathic messages, so maybe it's not a joke, I thought. Yes, your father is a god, but your mother was a mortal. She gave you up because she believed that she would only hold you back. You have extreme power inside you, I can see it and so can the other gods. Unfortunately, so can monsters, sighed the wolf.

"Monsters? Like, umm, what was the word?" I click my fingers. Lupa waits patiently. "...... Cyclops!" I blurt out. Yes, but Cyclopses are Greek. You are a Roman demigod because your father was in his Roman form when he met your mother. " Roman form? Compared to what? He has another form?" I demanded. I was so confuesed.

Lupa sighed and lay her head on her crossed paws. Nothing goes over your head. Roman form compared to his Greek form. You see, Roman and Greek gods are the same people, just with different physical appearances and most have different names. Like Zeus is his  Greek form and Jupiter is his Roman form.

I heard a rumble as Zeus' name was mentioned. When there is a war between Roman and Greek demigods, the gods become disoriented, their forms trying to split to support their side in the war. "And you?" I ask. "What's your Greek form?" She sighed and sat up.

Some gods, like me, only have one form, either Greek or Roman. But we will discuss more tomorrow. For now, I need my rest, Lupa said and got up to walk over to the cave. She then looked over her shoulder and called, I suggest that you do the same.I hesitate before asking," Am I sleeping in the cave?" Bah!, laughed Lupa,

The pack must first accept you before you are allowed to join the warmth of the pack at night. "And how do you become accepted?" I asked. She looked over her shoulder and said, You work for it. I ponder about this for a while, before curling up in a ball along side the warm fire.
