8 Months later:
I ran through the forest, the pack and I chasing a hellhound. Fortunately, I had gotten a lot better at this and hadn't tripped or ran into something. Yet.
We were at the campsite and the sun was just sinking behind the hills when 3 hellhounds decided to try to attack us. I had managed to kill one before the rest ran off. Half of the pack had gone off after the other one, and Lupa had decided to go along as well. Just days before, had I become The Wolf Huntress.
Flashback:
I was sitting around the campfire and slowly the pack went into the cave for sleep untill it was just Lupa and I. I knew something was wrong. She walked around the campfire towards me, and snuzzled my cheek affectionately. "Lupa, is everything alright?" I asked. She just sighs. Yes, my dear. It is just that I have something I must tell you. I nod for her to go on. You will not be going to Camp Jupiter, unlike the rest. I frown. "Why not?" I asked, curious and worried at the same time. Lupa seems uneasy. Your father sent me to stop you from going to Camp or meeting anybody related to that place. You see, your blood is not welcomed there. I tested you, to see if you were worthy of being part of my pack permanently. My heart swelled. "Permanently? As in stay here forever?" I asked, trying to contain my excitement. I had grown close to this pack and had not looked forward to parting from it. She nods. Yes, as my Huntress. The Wolf Huntress. You have to pledge that you will remain by my side for as long your heart beats. You will be given the opportunity to help others. I was in shock and before I could stop myself I hugged Lupa tightly and nodded as I pulled away. "I would love to be your Huntress." Lupa nodded and touched her nose with mine. With a bright flash, everything changed. I could see extremely well in the dark, I was told that I was able to morph into a wolf at any moment and resistant to extreme temperatures. But not only did my abilities change, my appearance too. My hair had gotten long, softer and darker and it plaited loosely so that it fell down my shoulder. I was wearing a silver Ski jacket (similar to a Hunter of Artemis' jacket), comfortable denium jeans and silver combat boots. And, to make it official, I had a silver band, almost, around my head, but it was made from real silver and it dipped in the middle at my forehead. It had wolf, moon and star patterns ingraved on it, a few golden patterns to match my bow and arrows. The pack once again circled me a howled, like they had the day I became welcomed, but this time I joined in, cupping my hands around my mouth and howling at the moon. (I could also howl like a wolf)
End of flashback:
I love running through this forest, especially when I don't hit anything. My speed, health and fitness have increased since becoming The Huntress. Now you're probably wondering why I'm not turning into a wolf.
Well, you see, I don't like becoming a wolf, I don't like how it changes my instincts and wrecks my human ones. So, I think I'll use it as a last resort.
Suddenly, the hellhound dissapears over the edge of a cliff. I shout to the pack to not follow me down. I let go of my bow and it changes into a bracelet and appears around my wrist. I un-sheath my daggers and jump, sticking them into the side of the cliff as I slide down.
The poor Hellhound is having trouble staying upright and slides down on his butt. I know that that was going to hurt. A lot. I reach the bottom of the cliff and slow down. The Hellhound has stop.
I sneak forward and realise why he has stopped. There's a whole party of monsters, surrounding 5 demigods. I continue to sneak quietly forward and hide behind a boulder. "You're quest stops here, demigods," hisses a voice.
I glance around the boulder and look through a Cyclops' legs. I can't see the 5 demigods clearly and I quickly duck back behind the boulder when the Hellhound turns his head towards me. I took out a small silver orb from my pocket and let it loose.
It becomes a fine dust and crawls up the monsters' backs and into their ears; it would mess with their minds and then they'd be under my control. And yes, I know it sounds evil, but once I'm done with them they just fall unconscious.
Suddenly a howl cuts through the air. I look up to see Lupa and the rest of the pack standing at the top of the cliff. She was asking if I need help. Before I can answer her, a voice called out," Lupa!" I curse. I knew that voice.
I see Lupa slide down the cliff. A Cyclops thunders towards the pack. "Enough foolishness, demigods! You all are dying at my feet now! Get them!" Hisses the Hydra. When no monster moved, she screams, "What is wrong with you, you fools?" I'm sitting on the boulder now, none of them noticing me.
The monsters are all staring in front of them, a lost and blank look in their eyes. The pack are finished with the Cyclops and jog in between the monsters' feet and over to me. Only then do they notice me.
With a small wave of my hand and a simple "sit", all the monsters sit down. The demigods are staring at me, as well as the Hydra. "You..." It hisses at me. I pluck at my bowstring and smile sweetly at her.
"Hi, did you miss me?" I ask innocently. "I will bathe in your blood after I have filled my stomach with it," is her reply. I blink and answer,"Well, that's just rude," I tell her, but before she could have even think about spitting acid at me, I grab a dagger from my belt and, with a flick of my wrist, the dagger immbedes itself in her chest.
With a poof, the Hydra is simply a pile of monster dust. Lupa looks at me. You enjoy showing off, don't you? She sighs. I laugh and nod, and walk forward to collect the monster dust; it had several uses.
"Bring me the Hellhound, please?" I call to Avita, another she-wolf. 3 jog to the hound and drag him forwards. I turn to the gaping demigods and fold my arms, raising an eyebrow. "Um, thanks. For, ya know, saving our butts," says Jason nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
I nod and my eyes travel to a dark haired boy standing next to a golden - eyed girl. I smile when I realise who it is. I bow and say,"Nico, it's a pleasure to see you again." I almost see a faint smile flicker across his face. I walk away to where the monsters are sitting, turning them all into monster dust.
