Menel and Sylvester had a thing for each other in high school when Mel was a junior and Sylvester was a sophomore. They had crushes on each other but didn't get together until the summer.
Menel was more concerned with his reputation as the cool jock dude or whatever so they kinda "dated" in secret over the summer and Menel eventually cut off Sylv completely because they almost got caught. So going into Mel's senior year and Sylv's junior year, Menel just completely ignored Sylvester. The next summer Menel tried to get back with Sylvester by texting him and asking to get back together, but Alana, who had previously been wary of the relationship, told Sylvester that Menel was using him and that it wasn't a healthy or worthwhile relationship. Sylvester never responded and since Menel had graduated, they haven't seen each other since.
Most of you know that Sylvester and Cierra are together now.
