It's been a few months since Dan and Phil have been together and they are already drifting apart.
Dan would stay away in his room for hours. Every night before they went to sleep, Phil would say
"I love you Dan."
and Dan would just nod, silently crying to himself. Phil didn't know he was crying. He thought Dan didn't love him anymore.
One day while Dan was in his room, like usual, Phil had had enough. He decided to go ask Dan why he was ignoring him.

Phil walked to Dan's room and opened the door without knocking. Dan looked up at him in horror as Phil realized the blade in Dan's hand and the blood trickling down his arm.
"Oh my gosh! Dan!" Phil could barely say it.
"I'm so sorry Phil."
Phil ran to get a paper towel and some band aids.
"Why would you do this?" Phil asked.
"I've been bullied nearly my whole life. I figured, if I wasn't good enough for them, how could I ever be good enough for you? You are so perfect. You have dazzling blue eyes, the face of an angel, and I'm pretty sure that you have a sun inside of you that just makes you bursting with kindness and joy. All I'm going to do is put the light out. Philly, I love you too much to do that to you. It would just be selfish."
"Dan, you're the reason my light is burning so bright. I've never found a person that I love as much as I love you. If you took yourself away from me, I couldn't be happy ever again."
He leaned down to kiss the scars on Dan's arms and Dan started crying.
"Phil, I really am sorry."

That night, Dan said,
"I love you Phil."
and Phil said,
"I love you more."

Okay, so maybe I failed at the every day thing. Sorry. Well, there's the next chapter. Will Dan stop? Will they grow old and get married? You'll have to read and find out.
