I do not own Naruto
*Mai's POV* Age 10
I giggled while climbing up the closest tree, Arashi right behind me. "Mai-chan, are you sure he won't find us here?"
"I'm sure, Onii-chan isn't the best at sensing chakra, even if he is a Genin." I answered while nesting myself firmly on a branch, my blonde hair falling in my face while doing so.
"Why did you have to get my involved in your prank?" Arashi whinnied.
I only grinned, "Because, you're the second best at sneaking around."
He narrowed his blue eyes, "Oh yeah, and who's the first?"
"Come on, Ari-kun, you should know by now that I'm the best!" I quickly grew quiet as I heard footsteps.
"Mai-chan, where are you?!" I puffed out my cheeks in order to keep quiet as I saw familiar dark blonde hair under us. "Mai, I know you took those clothes! But your prank didn't work, because I had set another set of clothes ready!" When Arashi and I didn't say anything he sighed. "I know you had poor Arashi in on this too, you aren't allowed in the boys hot springs." With a sigh he turned to leave, my grin spread across my face as I thought he was about to leave.
My eyes widened when he suddenly appeared behind us. "Mai, Arashi, what are you doing in the tree? You wouldn't be hiding, would you?"
I gasped shortly before grabbing onto Arashi and trying to jump. "Quick Ari-kun, we gotta get out of here!"
"Oh no you don't! If it wasn't for the other set of clothes I had prepared, I would have been running around the village naked!" My brother picked my up by the collar of my dress.
I puffed out my cheeks, "Damn, he got us."
I winced when his fist came smashing down on my head. "Don't cuss! Now, care to explain to me why you enjoy stealing my clothes?"
My cheeks puffed out again as I looked in the other direction. "I don't need to tell you anything, Onii-chan."
Arashi quivered beside me, "R-Ren-san, I didn't want t-to! But Mai-chan made me do it! I'm sorry!"
My eye twitched as I glanced at Ren, my arms crossing. "Wimp."
"Don't worry, Arashi. I know my little demon made you do it, so I'll let you off the hook, but you better run quickly before I change my mind." Ren smiled.
Arashi nodded, glancing at me before he took off running. Ren looked down at me before he started walking home, dragging me along. I ignored the dirt and small bumps as I sat indian style with my arms crossed as Ren dragged me home.
The villagers smiled in amusement as they saw me being dragged home, it wasn't anything new around here. "What did Mai do this time, Ren-kun?" One of them asked.
Ren smiled at them before glancing at me, "Oh nothing much, just another prank."
The woman laughed, patting my on my messy blonde hair. "Mai-chan, you're always in trouble, aren't you?"
I glanced up at her, "I wasn't in trouble yesterday, so no, I'm not always in trouble."
She giggled at me as Ren started dragging me again. "How are you ever going to make it as a ninja doing this? You can't keep on pulling pranks, Mai. How do you think Mom and Dad would feel if they were here, hearing about all of the trouble you're causing."
"Dosen't matter, their not here." I muttered as we stopped at the house, Ren looked at me.
His identical blue eyes softened as they looked down at me. "Hey, it's not their fault that there is a war going on, once it's done they will be back, good as new. Now come on, go get cleaned up and let's grab dinner."
