I didn't want to go to bed, because if I did the monster would come out. But if I didn't I would get in trouble, so here I am going to bed.

The monster always came out after I was asleep, and went back under my bed just before morning. I've wondered for awhile what the monster did when I was asleep, so tonight, in gonna stay up.

After awhile, I heard a loud thump followed by my Dad shouting at my Mom.

"Why did I marry such a weak and useless bitch? And that thing upstairs is just as a mistake as me marrying you." Shortly after there was a scream and a thud.

The stomping of footsteps isn't what scared me, it was the creature that unfolded itself from under my bed.

It had to bend it's head and hunch over just to barely fit in my room. It's skin was scaly in some spots, furry in others, and flesh-like in the rest. It had long, bony arms, and it's fingers were long and pointy. The scales were different shades of deep red, the fur was pitch black, and the skin was a sickly pale. I couldn't see the boby because it was covered by a large sliver cloak. It had extremely long raven black hair that hung past its head.

My Dad looked up at it in horror. He began to slowly walk backwards towards the door. The monster seemed to take notice of this and quickly grabed him by his neck. "Leave my child alone, she is protected by me and if you wish to harm her, you'll have to get through me first." It's voice was slurred, and gravely, but sounded like a woman's.

After my Dad had ran out of my room, and possibly the house, the monster turned to look at me. "Are you alright?" I shakily nodded my head, but jumped back when I heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs again, and screaming. "You little bitch! What did you do!? Why is your father running down the street screaming about a monster that came from under your bed?!"

My Mom barged into my room only to see the monster that my dad was screaming about. She too, ran out of my room and down the street.

Jackle, I had learnt my monsters name, tucked me safely into bed and kissed me goodnight, and crawled her way back under my bed. "Remember child, if you ever need me, I'll be right under your bed, no matter what."
