Chapter 2.
Guests started coming, and the music started to turn on. People surrounded me with comments. " Hey Autumn, nice party!" People started telling me. Some boys asked me out, but I rejected because I just broke up with Matt. Speaking of Matt, I scanned my home to see if he was there.
No Matts to be seen.
I glanced down, to see that my belt was unbuckled. I started walking and buckling.
Walk and buckle
Walk and buckle
Walk and b-oof!
I bumped into someone. I felt my back hit the marble floor. " Watch where you're going" I saw a face looking down at me. A handsome face. He had nice black hair, and light brown eyes. He towered over me with one raised eye brow. " Are you okay?" He asked, carelessly. " I'm f-"
" I really don't care" He laughed, and his friends behind him laughed as well. Two of them being my closest friends. Brett and Chris. " Brett!" I called as they started walking away. They all stopped. " What?" He asked annoyed. He was acting weird. It was rather scary......." I was just wondering if you tried the punch... I know you love the punch I make" Lame. So lame...
But, usually he does try the punch, and walk with ME everywhere, not, who ever that guy is. I glance at Mr. Good looking. And that wasn't what I was really wondering. I was wondering why he was hanging out with that... Jerk. " Nah, I don't feel like it, now leave us alone" Brett ran back with the group and walked off.
3 hours later...
Okay, now the party is starting to get plain boring. For me. Not anyone else. Me. And I'm the host! Nobody talked to me since... 3 hours ago. I haven't seen Carly either, actually, only before the party had I seen her. Oh well, typical Carly.
I decided it was time to take that swim. I got into my bathing suit, a bikini, and I grabbed my favorite pink towel with blue and green frogs on it, my dad gave it to me when I was 4.
As I walked down the steps, I heard two familiar voices under the deck. I know one was Carly, fast and a little high pitched, and another one... Then I realized.
It was Matt's. I looked under the deck, what are they talking about. Carly was leaned up against Matt. " You are so... much better than Autumn" I heard Matt speak. " I know, why would anyone want to date her?" Carly questioned Matt. Wait.. What did she just say?
I saw Matt shrug. " I wasn't thinking straight, she isn't all that pretty either" Matt stated. It felt like smoke was coming out of my ears. I quietly tip toed towards them as they said a few more hurtful things that will NOT be mentioned..
I toward over them, and finally said with a booming voice " Hmm, nice to know that my best friend and my ex boyfriend are having a good time, and think that way about me" Carly jumped, and Matt just looked up. " Hey Autumn.." He greeted, smiling.
" Hey Matt" I narrowed my eyebrows. " I have a few things to say about you two" I smirked. " Carly, you are to talkative, shut your mouth, you have a bad taste in 20th century fashion, even though you love it so much" I could go on and on. But I want to save my anger for Matt. " Matt, I only dated you because you asked me out and I was desperate at the time, you are a selfish arrogant jerk, and I wish I never even met you" I saw hurt in his eyes. Probably because I pointed out the things that were true and he knew it.
He stood up. " Well you think you're right about everything, you're selfish...." Matt went on and on. I finally got tired of all of it. I slapped him.
Carly gasped, and flinched. I rolled my eyes. Matt just looked at me. He glared into my eyes. He grabbed Carly's arm and pulled her up. He kissed her on the lips for about a minute. I walked away, forget about my nice and peaceful swim I thought to myself. How could I be so clueless? Trying to get peace when you're having a party. As I was walking up the stairs, Matt called up to me " Is this jealousy, sweetheart?"
" Shut up!" I screamed. I wasn't jealous. He's only my ex.
I walked up and I bumped into that jerk that I met before. " Sorry" I said annoyed, he stopped me as I tried to walk past. His leather jacket had a flare that travels from the side of his neck to the other side, not in the front but in the back. I looked up at him.
" What?" Then I remembered I was still in my bikini. I shook my head and shoved past him, running up to my room.
And Matt was right... I am jealous.
