Chapter 2

(Kai's POV)

Instead of waking up to Little Mix’s voices, I woke up to my doorbell ringing. I quickly checked my appearance to make sure I didn’t look like a hobo and dragged myself to the front door. Peering through the peephole I realised it was Nathan. I flung open the door glaring at him. He just looked at me weirdly then smiled

“Hey babe!” He tried to hug me but I just shrugged his arms off, pushed him out the door and slammed it in his face.

“Go away. I don’t want to speak to you right now.” I said through the door.

“What did I do?” Him saying that just makes it even worse.

“Why don’t you ask the calendar, hmmph?”

“Oh shit” He mumbled. “Kai, baby, I'm so so so sorry I didn’t realise."

“Where were you, Nate? I sat at home for the whole day waiting for you to text or call me and take me out. Even if you didn’t take me out I still would have wanted you to call me and say happy anniversary. But no. Nathan, you forgot.”

“I didn’t mean to, Kai. I was recording. I don’t know why it’s such a big deal, all I di” I cut him off.

“You not knowing why it’s such a big deal is bad enough. Just leave Nathan.” I felt kind of sorry for my neighbours, since it was 10 am on a Saturday morning and they were hearing our whole conversation.

“Kai, please, love can we just talk this through? Kai? Kai, are you still there?” I just walked to my bedroom and slammed the door, hoping he got the signal. I pressed play on my speaker and In My Veins by Andrew Belle started playing. I just lay on my bed, looking at the ceiling. In the back of my mind there was a voice saying forgive him but then again why should I? He forgot our anniversary, he was at work. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it was the first time on something as big as our anniversary. He had forgotten quite a few dates and had to cancel loads of things because of the guys or work. I felt like the second choice. NO. Kai, Nathan is the best thing that has happened to you and you can’t let him go. Just cool down a bit. The voice in my head told me. I listened. I checked my phone and found 6 missed calls and 10 texts from Nathan.

From Nathan :* xx: Babe? Please come outside or open the door, I’m so sorry xx

From Nathan :* xx: Kai, please

From Nathan :* xx: I’m not leaving, even if it means I have to stay here for the whole day.

From Nathan :* xx: Baby please open the door

Those were just a few of them. Ugh why can't he just leave?

(6 hours later)

My phone beeped again, signalling I had a message. I groaned and checked anyway.

From Dougie the poo -_-: Um Kai, why the hell is Nathan camped out on your doorstep? I have a key do I let him in? or just come in and leave him out here?

To Dougie the poo -_-: Just come in but make sure he doesn’t

Sent. I sat in my room waiting for my big brother to come. Me and Dougie were a lot closed than most siblings. I guess its cause we both like the same sort of stuff. Dougie is the best brother anyone could ever asked for. I heard the front door creak open and 2 males talking. Dougie and Nathan, I guessed. My bedroom door flung open, revealing Dougie and Danny. I released a breath I didn’t even know I was holding.

“HEY KAI!” Danny screamed running forward and giving me a massive bear hug. I just laughed and hugged him back. Crazy boy.

“hey Kai, so explain why your boyfriend is sitting outside your doorstep with a pizza and a really determined look on his face?” Dougie looked quite serious and confused.

“dammit why didn’t you take the pizza?!” I said chuckling lightly, trying to avoid his questions. Danny rolled his eyes at my attempts to doge the answer.

“Kai stop avoiding the bloody question.” Dougie gave me a stern look and I just sighed. I explained the whole story to them. I knew that they would listen, even Danny. He’s mental but he knows when to listen.

“Woah, that’s a dick move.” Yep typical Danny. Dougie hit his shoulder, making him groan in pain. These 2 idiots were 2 of the best people in my life. Nathan was as well. I mean is. I don’t know anymore.

“Well Kai, I know for a fact that isn’t the first time he has done something like this. You 2 just need to take a break. Thats what we needed to talk to you about. So Kai, do you want to come on a 8 month worldwide tour with Mcfly?" Woah. Thats really nice of Dougie to ask me. I mean i guess me and Nate do need a break and it would be nice to travel around!

"OMG you guys are touring again?!"

"um well not exactly..."

"Danny, what aren't you telling me?"

"Wearetouringwithonedirectionasaopeningactsuprise!"

"Danny, i didnt quite catch that."

"He said We are touring with One Direction as an opening act, suprise!" Dougie and Danny both looked really worried about what my reaction would be. I mean I don't like one direction but still.

"Sure, I'll come! Get to travel the world for free!" They looked really suprised at my reaction. They told me the details of the trip. We hung out for a bit and then they had to leave. We were going in 1 week. I decieded to tell Nathan. It had been 8 hours since he first came and he was still here. But the difference was that so was Max. Max George, Nathans bandmate. I mean Max was nice but could be extremely rude about a person he didn't like. This was not going to go well. As i opened the door, Nathan looked really upset and tired whereas Max just looked pissed off at me. He glared at me. If looks could kill, I would be dead. Definetely.

"What the fucking hell Kai, Nathan has been here for 8 hours, I've been here for 4, why are you being such a stubborn bitch?" ouch. That hurt. Max can be a jerk.

"Hey don't talk to her like that."

"Nate shes fucking left you out her for 8 hours."

"Max just leave, I need to talk to Nathan." Max just glared at me and walked off, mumbling stuff about me under his breath.

"Nathan, i need to tell you something." He looked up at me, worry filling his eyes. I slid down the wall and sat next to him.

"Kai please don't break up with me, y-"

"Nathan just let me speak. We need to take a break and this is the perfect time. You have left me for work and the guys so many times and I'm sick of it. Im going on an 8-month long tour around the world in a week because my brothers are the opening act for One Direction. Im going in 5 days, I'm sorry Nate. Goodbye."

"So thats it? We're over?" His voice was thick and his eyes filled with tears.

"We are taking a break. If when I come back the feelings we have for each other are still there, maybe we can get back together but for the moment, we aren't working out. Feel free to date while I'm gone, I just want you to be happy. Please can you go now, it's to hard to be around you."

"I'll leave, but i just want you to know that I won't date anyone else because the only person I'll ever be happy with is you. Goodbye Kai." He walked out of the building, his shoulders shaking. As he turned around for one last glance I saw the tears falling out of his eyes. I walked back inside just as the tears started to fall. I flopped on my bed and fell asleep sobbing my heart out. What had I just done?
