Hanna
2 Years LaterA lot has changed. I stuck with Kamina, Simon, and Yoko. We've even got some recruits to go with us. Kittan, his three sisters, Kiyoh, Kiyal, Kinon, Leite, Leeron, Gimmy, Darry, Rossiu, and many others. We go by Gurren Lagann. Kamina chose it.
(No he doesn't die in this. That was too depressing to watch, so I can't stand to write it.)
"Come on Ms. Hanna," Nia said and pulled my hand.
"Nia, seriously, just call me Hanna. I feel old when you put miss in front of it. I'm only 16," I said and followed her. "Where are we going anyways?"
She reminds me so much of Atra. The curiosity, her looks; the only thing that is different and keeps me from mistaking her, is her actions. Nia's smart and brave, don't get me wrong, but there's just that certain way to tell them apart.
"Hanna?" Simon asked and looked up at me. His eyes were bloodshot.
"Simon, what's wrong?" I asked and walked over to him.
I don't know where Nia managed to run off to. I thought she had something to show me. Maybe this was it. I sat beside him and put my hand over his. He turned his hand around and held mine.
"I like this girl, she's a good friend of mine, and I don't know if she likes me back. My emotions are really getting to me. Bro doesn't exactly help when he calls me a chicken over this," he said shakily.
"May I ask who this girl is? Maybe I can help you," I said.
"Hanna... How can you be so blind?" He whispered.
"What-"
There wasn't any time to finish my question. Hell, there wasn't even any time to take in the fact that Simon's lips are on mine. He pulled away and kept our eyes locked.
"It's you, Hanna," he said. "I'm falling in love with you more an more everyday. I try my best to get some sort of answer from you, but I can never tell. You make it so hard for me that I don't know what to do anymore. You're not like any other girl. I used to get made fun of or judged, you don't do either."
"Simon..." I said quietly.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," he said and looked away.
"No, it's fine. I just- I don't know what to say or do. I mean, I like you too, I really do, but Mikazuki..."
"You don't even know if you'll see him again," he sighed.
"What's going on over here?" Kamina asked and sat by us.
"Nothing. We're just having a casual conversation," Simon said.
"About what?" Kamina asked.
"How we see ourselves in the future," Simon answered.
"So how'd that work out?" Kamina asked. So many questions...
"There were answers," Simon chuckled.
"Interesting," Kamina said and leaned towards me. "What kind of answers?"
"About the future," I answered.
"Y'all are no fun," he grunted and stood back up. "Anyways, food is almost ready. Be sure to eat."
"We will, bro," Simon and I answered in unison.
"Weirdos," Kamina chuckled.
He walked away, leaving us two to talk again. Talk about awkward.
"So what now?" Simon asked suddenly.
"You have a point. There's no promise that I'll see Mikazuki again. So why not live in the present and accept the fact that I really like you, and want to see where this goes," I answered.
"Really? You mean it?" He asked. His eyes lit up like fireworks.
"Yes really, Simon. I mean it with every single half-vampire bone in my body," I said.
He smiled widely, picked me up by my waist, and spun me around. I laughed at his cuteness. Then he stopped and dropped me to where our hips are aligned.
"Thank you so much," he said with a smile so bright it could light up the night sky.
I smiled back and hugged him. I'm sorry Mikazuki... We agreed we'd see by time I came back, but Simon made a good point. What if I never come back for you or Orga? What am I expected to do? Die lonely?
"Simon, I'm glad you told me how you feel," I whispered.
"GUNMEN!!!" Kittan shouted.
"Let's go," Simon said and set me down gently.
