Hanna
2 Weeks Later

"Rossiu, you can't be serious about this!" I said angrily.

"Simon is going," he said.

"He has kids and his wife! Did you ever consider this?" I asked.

"I did. The children will just have to-"

I grabbed him up by his throat. "They're not going without their father. Simon and I grew up without our parents, our children will not miss out on their father. They need him as much as he needs them."

I dropped him to the floor and walked to Simon's desk. Rossiu got up.

"I'm making the announcement," he coughed.

And then we'll see how much you look like a fool.

The screen popped up and I let Rossiu start speaking while I read the law book. Once he spoke of being the leader, I set the book down and walked over.

"I see what this is, Rossiu," I chuckled.

"Guards, get her-"

I flicked my wrist in their direction and stopped them. "Section 4.13 paragraph 5 clearly states that if something happens to the leader that he his removed from his position, his significant other, meaning his wife which is I, takes his place. If there is no such person THEN the second hand can take his place. Which means, Rossiu, I am taking his place. Check it if you wish or please, but I'm telling you something you already know, aren't I?"

The guards looked up from the book on Simon's desk, and nodded.

"She tells the truth," Kaito said. "Section 4.13 paragraph 5. It clearly says it right here. There's no loophole to it either."

"Of course there isn't. Rossiu and I was the one put in charge of writing the laws, with everyone's assistance of course, but we wrote them to where there's no way out of them," I smirked. "Simon and all council members signed off to them with approval. Didn't we, Rossiu?"

"Speak to the people," he whispered.

I turned and faced the screen, my mind focused on their safety and the best option for them.

"As you all know, Simon is being sent to the ward, I will not fight this until this is all settled down and everyone is calm. Simon, dear, I'm sorry... Our children send you their love," I cleared my throat. "Citizens of Kamina City, I promise your safety is my first priority. I know you may not agree to me substituting for Simon, and I don't blame you, but I've already spoke with the crew about working on something that can get us to a safe place. Since only one can hold 8,000 people; we'll be working on another. The first will hold the women, children, and the elderly. The second will hold the men and anyone else that won't fit in the first one. Please remain calm. Lieutenant Rossiu and I will work hard to protect all the lives that everyone allows us to. Enjoy your days on earth with one another before we fly off."

I signed off and turned to Rossiu. "Simon won't remain where he is for long, Rossiu. I will get him out after this. We will defeat the anti-spirals, and peace will come back into order as it used to be. With Simon in charge."

"Were you wanting to make a fool of me?!" He demanded.

"Anything to put you in your place, lieutenant. You expect everyone else abide by the laws. You sent Simon off to the ward with all the criminals that want to kill him. Is that your plan? Kill Simon, harm his family, send his children into a bad place of mind where they lose it? Rossiu, you and I wrote those laws, you knew damn well section 4.13 is there. What puts you above the law? I was unaware that you're better than everyone else," I stated.

"Of course you're the type of person to make me seem like a bad guy. Who's the vampire here?" He demanded.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I shouted.

"Vampires are deceiving. They drain humans of their life, and they're monsters. Believed to be Satan's spawns," he scoffed.

"First of all, when have I ever lied to people? Second, I only drink animal blood or the hospital packs once a week. And thirdly, you would be dead if I weren't how I am. If I'm a monster, I would've killed you and drank your blood like it was my last meal I'll ever have. Do not test me, Rossiu." I growled.

"Hanna!" Kinon said.

I looked at her from the doorway. "Yes, Kinon?"

"You should see this," she said and started walking. I followed after her, jerking Rossiu with me.

"Hanna, I can-"

"You should know what we're doing as well," I said. "It'll come in handy, your knowledge I mean. Your opinion and advice as well," I cut him off. "So what's going on, Kinon?"

"There doesn't seem to be enough resources," she said. "The gunmen will need more space and artillery, and then there's the matter that Leeron isn't so sure we can get it done in time since we need to make it an adequate living area that'll hold our food sources and the families."

We stopped in front of the large screen that's in front of Leeron, and I looked at it carefully. Rossiu joined and inspected the work. His input was made variously and he was so caught up in it, that he didn't realise how much Kinon was giving him such an admirable look, but I saw. I always see it. But he doesn't, and that's what hurts. I know Kinon hurts from it.
