One- Kyson

The call came late at night, waking the whole Pack from their sleep. Colin, our Alpha, answered the phone and relayed the conversation by opening the Pack-Link. It was Colin's cousin from the neighboring Pack, Marcus, and he was stuttering about demons. Colin could barely calm Marcus down enough to get the location. Colin, Ivaylo, Accalia, and I grabbed our gear and shifted into our wolf-forms before running through the cover of the forest on our way to a neutral zone north of our town.

Marcus had us all on edge. Demons were creatures that my Pack- the Reinforcement Pack- rarely dealt with despite our job title. Demons only came to earth when huge events were about to happen, or something stirred them up. Both of those reasons seemed unlikely, so an investigation was needed before we charged in.

The report went as follows:

Suspicious screams and loud vocals, strong smell of blood and poisons, and temperature decrease. All coming from the neutral field North of Tamilan. Witnesses recount hearing: "A chilling scream of a single tortured individual that brought on nightmares and paranoid feelings. Followed by piercing laughter that churned your guts". Wolves out inspecting borders report seeing "Black Shadows, blood, and other things that seemed to be unfocused despite excellent eyesight". Lastly, there has been many accounts of "bad vibes" and "hair-raising feelings" that surround the area.

As the report was read through the Pack-Link we approached a building that was not on the map we had been provided of the neutral territory. Of all the accounts of sightings and nightmares caused by sounds; we seemed to be right in the middle of it all.

I glanced up to watch Colin freeze in his tracks. Everything about the building screamed at us to run away, but I wouldn't be in the Reinforcement Pack if I didn't have a high tolerance for pain and death.

I allowed my wolf to take over my sight and focus my vision. Shadows? No. As my sight grew clearer I realized that we were not dealing with demons, rather ghouls with a taste for mischief and flesh. The ugly pale creatures with hollow mouths that unhinged to show two rows of black razor sharp teeth, surrounded the place and screeched at our arrival probably warning others. The gray building they stood around was covered in symbols that were painted in blood. It was clear by the shield surrounding the place that the building wasn't supposed to be found, and the aura reeked that of unusual feeding habits for ghouls.

In a split second a howl rang out and we needed no further tempting to charge. I tore through the first ghoul easily, and bit through the second. My wolf and I were certainly blessed with strength, but for some reason these ghouls seemed different- almost old. Like they weren't really at their prime.

"Kyson! Check the house. I don't have a good feeling about this," Colin ordered me through the link. I obliged and charged toward the house with Accalia fighting the ghouls chasing after me.

I charged through the wood closing off the opening, and burst through it. A ghoul- most likely a guard- stands in front of me, it's wicked mouth releasing a horrifying scream before charging. I shifted into my human form and grabbed the creatures neck with my hand and used brute strength to rip its head clean off.

Running on pure instincts; I search the building. The main room held no furniture, but it had a large table that was stained red in the middle of the room, an opening to another door showed a cold room that resembled a kitchen, bones of unknown victims covered the counters. On the far end of the room, next to what looked like a freezer, was another large door. I opened it and caught the scent of wolfsbane before cautiously creeping down the stairs. I could hear my pack moving towards the house, still fighting the few remaining ghouls.
