Chapter 8 | Brothers?!

Author's POV

Nam Yoon, Jae Yoon and Xiumin stood in front of the house's door. The girls kept on fidgeting.

"Are you guys ready?" - Xiumin asked as he smiled at them.

"Do you think they'll like us? Or-Or will they dislike us?" - Nam Yoon asked as she took hold of Xiumin's sleeve.

Xiumin smiled wider at this.

"Don't worry! They're really nice. They said that they wanted to meet you! Now, come on!" - He exclaimed, taking her hand while turning the knob. But even before he could open the door, Nam Yoon said;

"Would it be okay to hide my face first? I'm really nervous. I want to know them first before showing my face. And please let Jae Yoon unnie be invisible for a while, we don't want to shock them or anything." - Looking at the ground, Xiumin then decided to place his index finger and thumb on her chin, raising her line of vision with his.

"It's okay if you're still shy and nervous. Maybe next time, they'll finally get to see your beautiful face." - Soon enough, Xiumin realized what he said, causing him to blush furiously as well as Nam Yoon while Jae Yoon just giggled at them.

"W-Well then--" - As Xiumin was about to open the door, another person beat him to it. Also cutting him off from his sentence out of shock.

By the time Nam Yoon realized that the door was opening, she took her hood and covered her head, along with her face.

When the door finally opened, a guy then came into view.

"Xiumin hyung! Is this the girl you've been talking about?" - He asked as he inspected Nam Yoon.

"Yes, Baekhyun. She's the girl." - Xiumin said shortly.

"Guys! Xiumin hyung brought over the girl!" - Baekhyun yelled. And then, the three of them heard footsteps. Lots and lots of heavy footsteps.

Nam Yoon unnoticably gulped. Here goes nothing.

"Hyung! You finally brought her over!"

"Yeah!"

"But why is she wearing her hood? We can't see her face."

Xiumin chuckled at the question.

"I did tell you she's kind of shy. She's not used to a lot of people looking at her. So, she decided that it's best to get familiar with you first before showing her face." - Xiumin explained with a smile.

The guys seemed to be disappointed as they all slumped. Nam Yoon looked troubled as she waved her hands.

"I-I'm sorry... It's j-just that... I-I'm not r-really exposed t-to other p-people... That's why. I-I'm sorry." - She visibly slumped her shoulders in slight shame. Was what I decided selfish after all? Is what I'm doing makes them disagree of me coming here? Do I not really belong outside the barrier, then? - Nam Yoon thought as she then slowly hid behind Xiumin while holding onto his shirt tightly. Jae Yoon, however, only kept on observing. She can't put her guard down, if things get too bad, she'll step in the way to protect Nam Yoon.

Although Nam Yoon was stuttering, her voice was like music to their ears.

"Hey, it's okay. They're not mad at you." - Xiumin said as he sensed her worry.

"They're... not?" - She asked, peeking from behind him. As Xiumin saw her, he placed a hand on his face, just to at least cover a bit of his blushing face.

"Guys, really. Don't look so glum. You're making her think that you're mad at her." - At the words he said, the guys immediately snap their heads up, scaring the living day light out of Nam Yoon and Jae Yoon, afraid that they may get a whiplash.

"No, no, no. We're sorry."

"Yeah, we're not mad at all."

"Sorry for that. We were just really hoping to see your face."

"Yeah, did you know that you're the first girl Xiumin hyung brough-- Ow!" - He exclaimed when Xiumin smacked his head, but not too hard.

"What? It's true!"

They all stopped when they heard a soft giggle. Even though Nam Yoon had her hood on, they still thought of her giggles as cute.

Xiumin coughed a little, a blush appearing on his cheeks.

"So, welcome to our house, Nam Yoon." - He said, rather sheepishly with a small smile.

"Annyeong, Nam Yoon! We're Xiumin hyung's brothers!" - One guy exclaimed.

Nam Yoon and Jae Yoon's eyes widened while looking at them as if they all grew another head.

"B-Brothers?! T-They're all your brothers?!" - Nam Yoon exclaimed with rounded eyes. All of the guys chuckled at her reaction.

"W-Well, we're not really blood related and all, but we're really close friends, which made us all basically feel like we're family." - Xiumin explained while leading her to the couch for her to sit on, which is by now, pretty much empty due to the boys lining up in front of her.

"Annyeong! Luhan-imnida!" - The first from the line, said. He looks like a girl. - Both Nam Yoon and Jae Yoon thought.

"Kris." - Another said. He looks cold, but just like what Umma said, 'Don't judge a book by its cover.' - Nam Yoon thought while Jae Yoon only chuckled.

"Annyeong haseyo, Suho-imnida. Welcome to the house." - A shorter one said. He gives off the leader type aura. - Nam Yoon commented.

"Lay-imnida, nice to finally meet you." - Another guy said with sleepy eyes. He's cute.

"D.O., but you can call me Kyungsoo." - Another short one said. He has eyes like an owl, and he's so cute as well! - Nam Yoon thought with a smile.

"Baekhyun-imnida!" - A cheerful one said. He has a huge smile on his face. It kinda looks adorable. - Nam Yoon lightly giggled at the thought, but lightly enough for them not to hear.

"Annyeong! Chen-imnida! Nice to meet you!" - He shaked hands with Nam Yoon, while a huge smile was painted across his face. He looks like the troll kind of type.

"Annyeong haseyo! Chanyeol-imnida! Welcome! I hope you'd have a wonderful stay!" - A tall guy exclaimed with a lot of energy. He got big elf-like ears! - Nam Yoon internally exclaimed.

"Tao-imnida! I hope you're nice!" - A masculine-looking guy said. Waaaaaahh! He looks like a panda! - Both Nam Yoon and Jae Yoon internally squealed.

"Annyeong haseyo! Welcome to our home! Kai-imnida!" - He grinned at her. Above all of them, he looks kind of darker, but pretty good looking. - Nam Yoon and Jae Yoon internally nodded to themselves.

"Annyeong! I'm the maknae! Sehun-imnida!" - The final guy said. He's tall and he looks like Luhan, however, Luhan is shorter than him. He has this mischievous aura and looks kind of cold too, but I feel like he has a softer side. - Jae Yoon thought as Nam Yoon internally agrees with her.

As they finished introducing themselves, Nam Yoon stood up and said;

"Nice to meet you all. Ki Nam Yoon-imnida. Please take care of me." - She bowed her head slightly with a hint of happiness in her voice.

The guys stared at her as she bowed her head, thinking of the same word that suited her. Cute. Even though they could not see her face, she surely has this innocent aura, as if she is sheltered from the world's intense cruelty.

"We look forward to knowing you. Please take care of us as well." - Suho said with a smile.

"Okay!" - Nam Yoon replied with a soft giggle.
