We have been walking in silence for 6 hours already and I'm getting quite annoyed. Bear won't talk to any of us meaning that nobody is going to risk talking in general. Eventually someone will need to say something but, I don't think Bear is gonna be the one to say something. She saw a different side of Steph none of us has ever seen. I don't even think Bear knew she knew how to use dark magic like that, or magic in general. Nothing seems to be falling into place after that. Nobody knows what to do besides follow Jericho. He is my oldest friend but, yet he still has no idea what's going on or what he is doing. I trust the man with my life. Hell we are only a few years apart in age.

"Stop" Jericho says abruptly.

I look at him wearily, "What is it?"

We all stop and look around. None of us see or hear anything. Nyx  looks as terrified as Jericho does right now. the three of us look at each other then back at Jericho and Nyx.

"Trouble" Nyx says.

We all draw our weapons and watch around us. None of us hear or see anything until it all happens at once.

Suddenly we are surrounded at all sides. Nyx is barking and growling, Steph has her dagger drawn but, with this crowd don't know how much that will do, Bear has her eyes glowing white and white flams erupt from her hands, Jericho has his dual swords drawn and eyes burning red. Now me, I'm standing at alert with my sword drawn I'm one hand and holding Nyx back with the other when I realize what this is all about and who they are. "We need to run" I whisper so only the group of us can hear.

Bear whispers back, "Just give us the signal"

"When I run follow" I reply.

Everyone nods. We stand waiting for them to get a little closer. A few moments later I dart up the mountain with Nyx in hand. Everyone follows me up the mountain, including the attackers yet, I keep running.

As we run I keep taking sharp turns and jumping over obstacles.

About 20 minutes later we lose them and finally sit when we do catching our breath.

"What now?" Steph asks still breathless.

I just simply shake my head, "We lost the path about a mile back. I don't know what to do from here."

Jericho responds, "Damion... We may he trouble and you know him... I know you're tired but, you need to pay attention."

Bear looks at me frightened as well as Nyx because he can smell something.

I sit there quietly for a couple minutes.

"Damion?" Steph says slightly frightened.

When I realize who is approaching my eyes almost pop out of my head, "You all need to go on without me. Now."

Jericho shakes his head, "Whoever or whatever is coming we will fight with you."

"You can't fight Death Jericho." I reply.

Jericho looks worried and picks up Nyx and tells the girls to follow, "We will be just up the mountain in another clearing. Be careful."

As they start to walk away Steph runs back and kisses me on t lips and walks away quickly.

I stand quietly trying to figure out what just happened when a hooded figure appears before me, "Hello Damion. We meet once again. Has been a while hasn't it? This time isn't such a... Depressing matter but, you know what this is about don't you?"

I shake my head, "For once? No. You always come unexpected to warn me of something and this time I don't know why."

Death chuckles, "You really don't know... Damion, Bear is sick... But you knew that. If you don't get her to the nearest town or to one of the mountain tribes she will die. And remember, you can't fight or kill death. This is my job. You are special Damion. I haven't met anyone like you in a long while. And you aren't on my list yet so be lucky."

I stare at the ground, "She's gonna die no matter what huh?"

Death sighs, "I'm afraid so... Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you can do something for me."

"And that would be what?"

"Kill Jericho."

I snap, "You think I'm gonna kill him? Really? He is the closest I have to family besides Bear!"

"You hunt Demons don't you? Well this is your next kill. And the bounty is Bear. Now, what will it be?" He hold out a bone hand to shake. And I take it.

"Why am I killing him?"

"He has cheated me. Many times. Escaped my clutches and it takes a true god to do that Damion. He is no god. He must be exterminated."

"And you want me to make that a reality so you can ha revenge?"

"No Damion. Not revenge. Vengeance!"

"Vengeance. Right, I forgot you're older than me. If he must die... So be it... I must warn you of you really want him dead... I need to be unkillable."

"That can be arranged. I know he is heavily skilled. Good luck Damion."
