I stood there petrified, my father only sent owls ever month unless he had something urgent to say.
Draco noticed me shaking and was stood kneeling in front of me asking if I way okay, I had never seen him more worried it was as if he knew who's owl it belonged too. That was strange I had to say, with it being highly unlikely that he would know who the owl belonged to. I muttered something of a response to tell him I was okay and his face erased the look of worry and he was back to the usual scowl.
I went and took my place at the Slytherin table, the top of course, next to Draco and began to place food on my plate. Trying my hardest to avoid the owl, I sat with my head down shovelling my mouth with food. But the owl was scanning the table and eventually found me, pecked me and left the letter infront of my plate. There was a loud clatter as my fork dropped and clanked against the silver plate my cheeks flushed red with embarrassment and Draco looked up worried as my bony fingers reached out for the letter.
The envelope was made out of old, worn parchment and had my name brandished upon the center. I was shaking violently as I pulled the worn parchment out of its makeshift holder and read;
Dear Cassie,My darling, things have taken a turn for the worst.
Aurors from the bloody ministry paid a little visit to our beloved home a few nights ago and destroyed almost everything..I only just managed to escape as I had to escort a number of death eaters off the premises, many of them apparated of course but some of my idiot followers did not have the knowledge that my other death eaters behold. I should have left them to die.
My dear, I am now in hiding and it is more important than ever for you to complete your mission. You must not tell anyone about this letter.
Dearly beloved,
Your father
I gasped in shock, the ministry had taken a hit at my father and nearly killed him! Nobody could understand the letter as it was written in Parseltounge and I'm pretty sure I am the only one who speaks it in the school.
The letter exploded in my hands as I ran out of the great hall leaving Draco to run after me, he couldn't catch up with me before I caught sight of the familiar brown haired boy..
"Potter, have a minute?"
