I slowly open my eyes, blinking rapidly to adjust to the light. I have no idea where I am, but I can just about make out a figure beside me. I think it's Tobi, but I'm not quite sure. I try to sit up, but another figure enters the room. I try to see what he's doing through blurry eyes, but it's too much effort. I feel an icy cold liquid seep into my veins.
I'm asleep before I know it.
God knows how many hours pass, but I wake up again. This time there are no machines whirring around me. No tubes wired up to my arm. The pain's still there, but it feels less surreal.
My eyes finally relax, and my vision's clearer. I look around the clean room, but I still can't figure out where I am. A hospital of sorts, probably. I'm almost confused when I see Harry come in through the door. He smiles and sits down in the chair beside my bed. ''Sorry to barge in like this. You must be a little out of sorts,'' he chuckles, and I muster a small smile. I open my mouth to talk, but nothing comes out. He shakes his head. ''Don't try to talk. You've been sedated for quite some time. Give it a few hours,'' he reassures me, and I give a short nod in response. He looks thoughtful for a moment, before flipping a page over on his clipboard and handing it to me. He slips a pen into my left hand and leans back in his seat. ''Write any questions you have down,'' he tells me, and I nod, shifting my arm slightly and getting started.
I notice his eyes widen as I hand the clipboard back. I can just about manage a small laugh as he reads through my questions. ''Alrighty...'' he shakes his head and chuckles. ''Well. You're still in West Coast Asylum. We moved you to the medical block because we weren't sure if you'd make the journey to the nearest hospital...'' he trailed off. ''Lily called them, though, and they brought some stuff in so you wouldn't... y'know...'' he trailed off once more and I give a small smile. ''Die?'' I ask, my throat raw. He nods slightly. ''Yeah... sorry. It's harder because it's you. I've never had to treat a friend before,'' he admits, and I nod in understanding. Almost immediately, Simon is brought to mind. I urge Harry to answer more of the questions. He sighs. ''Simon... he's... he's in isolation at the moment. Tobi was furious when he finally got the chance to speak with him. He wanted to throw him in iso immediately, but I managed to get a while to treat his injuries. He's just got a broken rib,'' I shift in my bed and frown slightly, but Harry speaks up again. ''Really, it's nothing serious. I'm more worried about his mental state...'' the boy trails off, noticing my discomfort. ''He wouldn't stop asking about you. He really didn't mean to hurt you, I hope you realise,'' I nod quickly. He shakes his head. The very last question is written scruffily, because I really didn't, and don't, care much for the answe,r but I thought it just important enough to ask.
''You should be fine.''
