My eyes flutter open and I see that my head is resting against Harry's chest.

"You finally woke up." He smiles down at me.

I roll over and look at the clock. It's nearly 6 at night.

I sit up. "How long was I asleep? Did my dad call? Is Ryder ok?"

Harry frowns. "You fell asleep at around 12 so you've been asleep for awhile."

"And? What about Ryder? Is he ok?"

"Your dad texted you." Harry sighs heavily. "Ryder is still unconscious. He said not to come to the hospital because it's all the way in Panama and you probably wouldn't get to see him. They're doing everything they can."

My stomach drops and my pulse quickens. "Everything they can to do what?"

He looks down. "Leighton, the bite was so bad. They may have to take off his leg."

"Wh- What?" I can feel myself shaking. Ryder is so young. If they took off his leg, so much of his future would be jeopardized.

"They might not have to take it off but it's defiently a possibility. Or at least that's what your dad said." Harry looks at me. I can tell he's sad and that he knows how much is at stake for Ryder.

I look down and start to play with my thumbs. "Oh."

"I ordered pizza." Harry smiles slightly. I can tell he's trying to make me feel better. "It should be here soon."

"Okay." I smile a bit. I grab his large hand in my small one and look up at him. "Thank you Harry." I say. "I really mean it. If I had been here all day by myself, I don't know what I would have done."

"You really mean that?" He looks at me, his eyes are wide and gleaming.

"Of course." I smile at him.

"Then I can stay here as long as you like."

"Thank you." I look down and I realize I'm still holding his hand. I immediently drop it. "Sorry." I breathe.

"It's fine. I kind of liked it." And he grabs mine again.

"Oh um okay so, um, do you want to watch a movie or something?" I stutter. Why am I suddenly nervous around Harry. We're just friends, he's probably just doing all this to be nice.

The doorbell suddenly rings.

"Pizza is here." He jumps up, grabs his wallet, and rushes down the stairs. "I'll be right back." He says as he leaps down the steps.

...

"Hello?" I awnser my phone as soon as soon as it started ringing.

"Leighton, it's your mother." Her voice sounds tired and strained. "Neither me or your father will be coming home tonight? Will you be ok by yourself?"

"Uh yeah. I want both of you to be with Ryder."

"Thanks sweetie. Maybe we will be home tomorrow morning to pick up some clothes and shower and stuff."

"Okay. Goodnight, tell Ryder I love him if he wakes up."

"I will." And with that she hangs up her phone.

I look at the clock, and then over to Harry, who is still sitting in my bed watching a movie on my laptop. It's nearly 11. We've been sitting here all night, mindlessly watching movies.

"Harry it's getting late. You should go home after this movie is over."

He looks over at me, his face wearing an expression of shock "Are you kidding? I heard what your mom said. I'm not leaving you here alone."

"Yes you are. My mother would not approve of you staying the night."

"Sorry, but I don't care." He says and he pulls back my duvet and crawls under.

"Are you crazy? You have to go home."

"Not happening. It's too far a walk anyway."

"Harry, you live across the street." I giggle a little.

"Exactly my point."

"You're so stubborn." I say as I leap off my bed.

He sits up and looks at me. "Where are you going?"

"I'm sleeping downstairs on the couch."

"Oh no you're not." He grabs my wrist and pulls me back towards him. "You are staying right here."

"Fine." I say, I'll just sneak downstairs after he falls asleep.

And with that, I sit back down on my bed, as we finish watching our movie.
