Harry leads me to a black Range Rover.
“Is this your car?” I ask.
“I wouldn’t be unlocking it if it wasn’t.” He says.
“Oh.” I say as I take a seat on the passenger side. “So where are you going to take me?”
“You tell me. I just moved here a week ago. I have no idea where to even begin.”
I think for a minute before getting an idea. “Want to do something fun? Like actually really fun?” I say.
“What do you mean?” He wears a look of confusion.
“Just drive. I’ll tell you where to go.” I say.
“Uh… ok.” He says as he starts the car. I give him directions and he drives until we are parked inform of two giant poles.
“What is this?” Harry asks as he gets out of the car and looks up.
“This is the Sling Shot. One of Panama City’s finest attractions.” I as we both look up. “Basically you sit in that little thing and they sling shot you up 360 feet in the air at 100 miles per hour.”
“What?” He turns to me, his face full of fear.
“You scared?” I laugh. I have rode this ride so many times it’s not even scary anymore, just fun.
“No… I just… that’s really high up. I’ve never done anything like this before.” He stutters.
“Come on then, it’s your lucky day.” I lead him over to where we buy tickets and after a short wait, we get on the ride.
“You ready?” I ask him as we get settled in on the ride.
“Not really!” He shouts back
“5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” A voice says.
As we go flying up, I hear him scream, and I just laugh I love this ride, it gives me so much adrenaline. The wind hits my face and we swing up and down a couple times before we are lowered back towards the ground.
”How do you find that enjoyable?” He asks, he’s shaking so bad I can physically see it and his breathing is uneven.
“I love that sort of thing.” I shrug.
“It was fun, just a bit much.”
It’s only 9 at this point so there’s plenty of time to do something else. “How about we head back to Seaside and do something a little more um… mellow?”
“Please.” He pants. I just laugh as we head back to the car.
