Falling, softly, gently. Snow fell from the skies as the happy couple held gloved hands, their fingers intertwined. Link and Christy Neal were walking together through the empty park in their home of North Carolina. Well, home, because that was where their hearts always resided, even when they lived in California. Their cheeks were rosy from the cold, but also from the smiles they had been sharing. The two laughed as they walked through the fluffy white snow on the ground, leaving their close footprints behind.

Their children were back at Christy's parents' house for the night and the couple took this opportunity to spend some quality time together. Recently, that had been harder. Work had been getting in the way for Link and then if he was not at work, he'd be off with his children, relieving his wife of parenting duties. This meant that the two weren't spending as much time together, not just the two of them. They relished the quiet, the only sounds were the crunching of their footsteps and their soft laughter of just pure happiness to be in one another's presence.

"Christine Michelle Neal, I love you. Really and truly do with my whole heart. Every fiber of my being just adores you. No one out there in this whole universe could be as perfect as you, sweetheart. You are way too perfect for me."

"Oh Link, you know that you have that backwards, right? You are too perfect for me!" Christy smiled warmly and rested her head against Link's shoulder as they walked, their hands still holding tightly to each other's. "And, Link, I love you too. Just as much as you love me." Link smiled a huge smile and picked up his wife. The two laughed as he carried her through the snowy path. "Link!! Put me down! What are you doing?" Christy laughed again.

"Carrying you, my love! What does it look like? And no, I'm not putting you down! You'll get your feet all cold!"

"You are crazy!"

"And that's why you married me! Because I'm crazy, alright... Crazy about you!" Link smiled and then, not minding the snow, sat down. Christy was still in his arms, now sitting on his lap and she laughed. The two leaned forward and their lips met. Despite the cold that surrounded them, they were instantly warmed. Link put his hands on Christy's waist, which was covered in about two inches of cloth for warmth. Their cold lips locked together perfectly, fitting like two pieces of a puzzle. They held the kiss for a while until Christy broke it so they could both breathe. She sighed happily, and leaned her head against Link's shoulder. She spoke softly and slowly, her voice was calm. "You're going to get all wet and cold sitting in this snow, but, gosh, I love you." Link chuckled, soft and breathy.

"And I love you too, Christy. I don't care about the snow. My love for you is keeping me warm."

"But sweetie, you could get sick. And I don't want that to happen." Christy stood up, a smile still present on her lips. She held out a gloved hand to her husband and he grasped it, pulling himself to his feet. "Thanks, baby. You're right, my legs are frozen." Link laughed as Christy playfully rolled her eyes. "Let's get you back to the cabin." The family had rented a cabin in the woods, about twenty minutes from the rest of their family. They continued to hold hands as they walked back. The full moon and stars that were painted across the inky blank sky of night illuminated the couple's path. Little, fluffy snow flakes fell from the few clouds above, collecting in their hair and eyelashes.

The two got back and Link quickly changed and took a quick hot shower, his teeth clattering against each other. When he opened the door from their bedroom, he saw Christy sitting on the couch. She had a fluffy blanket and two mugs of hot cocoa. There was a fire slowly crackling in the fireplace. She turned to look at him and smiled warmly. Link smiled back and joined her on the couch, taking the second mug of hot cocoa from his wife and slowly sipping some. "Tonight has been perfect." Christy smiled and nodded in agreement. "It has." The happy couple finished their drinks and cuddled up together. After a while, Link stood up and placed his glasses on the table. He turned off the lights and sat beside his wife on the couch. They cuddled together again and closed their eyes. "I love you, Christine Michelle Neal."

"And I love you, Charles Lincoln Neal III."
