(Lyra)
After a few hours of cuddling, and enjoying his comfortable warmth, Jongin stands up and leaves my side, mumbling about how stupid he is for losing track of time.
I follow him shortly after, slipping a wrinkled tee shirt over my head and a pair of boxers, since there are no other shorts for me to wear.
Yawning, a find him leaning over the kitchen counter with a worried expression. Our session seemed to only take away the stress for a few hours.
"What's wrong?" I whisper, rubbing his back until he turns to me, a small smile turning on his lips.
He invites me back into a warm embrace, head resting on the top of my head. I nuzzle him gently as he speaks.
"Kyungsoo still hasn't returned." Jongin draws a shallow breath. "It's been too long."
I rub his back again, trying my best to comfort him, but no words can come to mind.
I kiss his cheek before leaving his side, picking up the remote and turning on the dingy tv.
"What are you doing?" Jongin mumbles, not seeming interested enough in my actions. Instead, he is staring at the card Minseok gave him at the store.
"Just looking." I say, not wanting him to realize what I am looking for, in fact, I'm more worried about the supposed revolution, the thought itself scares me half to death. Especially that they want Jongin to help them.
I scroll through the channels in a daze, passing through cheesy sitcoms, old time movies, cooking programs, the usual cable stations.
But as soon as I come across the local news broadcast, my heart shatters to pieces.
"19 year old student missing in South Korea, it is believed she has been kidnapped by the Kkpangae and has ties to the death of Mafia leader Chin Ho...if you have any information about her or her whereabouts please call your local police hotline and you will be immediately redirected to our news station room where..."
The feed then switches to my parents, Mark, my siblings, my friends, all of them huddled around a mic with grief stricken expressions. "Please.." My mother speaks with a wavering voice. "We love our daughter so much, Please bring her back safely.."
I drop the remote, hands covering my eyes as tears begin to pour out, all the emotions I had kept hidden from Jongin escape at the sight of my family.
He comes to my side instantly, hands resting on my shoulders. "What happened?" He asks worriedly, eyes flickering from my sheltered face to the headline on the television.
Concern flashes across his face. "Lyra.." He hugs me tightly, rubbing my back as I sob into his chest. He's silent after that, but I'm fine with his tranquility. All I need is someone to hold me, I went into this relationship knowing Jongin wouldn't know what to do in a situation like this.
"They must be so worried about me." I cry, cheeks stained with tears. I cling onto him tighter, the only person I can trust as of now.
I suddenly feel my feet leave the ground, and the next moment Jongin is carrying me to the bedroom. He kicks the door open and lays me down gently.
A little surprised at his actions, my tears subside for a moment. Jongin glances at the clock nervously. "I don't know what to do to make you stop crying.. I just" He pauses for a moment. "I go to sleep when im angry and sad."
I stare at him for a few seconds, until I realize he's being completely serious. It makes me laugh lightly. "T-thanks."
"Let's go to bed." Jongin suggests. "I'm thinking too much and I need to rest, I think you should to."
I nod, slipping out of my sweatshirt. "Im tired, sore, and overwhelmed."
Jongin takes his shirt off as well, eyebrows raising slightly in a teasing matter. "Sore from what?"
I wipe the remaining tears from my eyes, trying my best to crack a smile. "Not in the mood"
My lover chuckles softly, walking out of the room to lock the front door and turn off all the lights.
I hear him make his way back into the room, the bed divots slightly as I shift promptly to make enough room for him.
He pulls the covers over the both of us. "Do you want me to rub your back?" He offers.
"In the morning." I smile, even though he couldn't see it. I'm too tired to stay up more than 10 minutes.
I curl up against him in the small bed, his arms wrapped around me and his chest supporting my head. I slowly begin to drift away like the previous night, listening to the steady beat of his heart.
"I love you Lyra." He whispers gently. "I promise you will see your family again."

My back is sore when im awoken to the sound of the door shutting quietly. I turn over to find myself alone in the bedroom. Kicking the blankets off, and putting on my slippers, I notice how quiet the atmosphere is. It has to be at least 10 degrees hotter than yesterday, yet there's not a single voice to be heard. I can practically feel the sun rays since the house doesn't have any air conditioning.
But nonetheless, I race outside in my pajamas, wanting to know why he is leaving me alone when I am more than capable enough to go with him.
"Jongin!" I call, emerging from the house and into the street.
He whips around in surprise. "Lyra, what are you doing?" He seems nervous as I run into his arms.
"You left without saying goodbye." I whisper into his chest. "I wanted to know why."
Jongin's arms find their way around my waist and he exhales slowly, knowing that in this situation, hiding things isn't the right thing to do.
"I'm going to buy guns and look for Kyungsoo." He explains, breath no longer misting in the frigid air. "We only have one gun to share between the two of us, I want you to have your own."
"Can't I come with?" I pull away and gaze up at him with pleading eyes.
Jongin hesitates before shaking his head. "It's too dangerous, I will feel better if you're at home. They can't find you there."
Shoulders slumped, I agree. "Okay, well at least bring your phone so I can call you if Kyungsoo comes back."
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out the flip phone to show me. "Got it covered baby."
I smile at the nickname. "Please be safe."
Without another word, Jongin pulls me into a warm embrace. He squeezes me so tight that my feet lift off the ground. "You don't need to worry about me." My lover speaks softly, turning his head to press a gentle kiss on my lips.
I'm left speechless, his hand drifts apart from mine before I can utter another protest.
He looks over his shoulder one last time, cheeks red from the cold. "I love you."
"I love you too." I shiver, the warmth from his kiss still present on my lips.
I stay there, eyes locked on his figure until he disappears behind a building. Even though he had just left, my heart aches with pain.
Something tells me that this is the last time I am going to see him.
