 Chapter 8:  The Healing Finally Begins

The phone on the other end rang three times before it was answered.  Navic felt bad about canceling out dinner so close to the meal time however Kyle and him had to clear up their problems first.

            “Rodrick Mover here.”

            “Rodrick I… uh”

            “Need to cancel dinner.”  Rodrick said helpfully.

            “How did you know?”

            “Remember what I told you before I’ve got a touch of sight.”

            “Huh… oh yeah.  You don’t mind do you?”

            “Nah you two need to have some time together alone.  By the way Navic if you ever pull a stunt like what you did at the rec park again I’ll have to knock some sense into you.”

            “You heard about that?”

            “Zes the whole office was talking about it.  I like to think you’re a good friend so if you ever have any problems just give me a call don’t tear yourself up like that okay?”

            “I’ll try to remember that.”

            “Good.  Do you need any cream or lotion for your back?”

            “Zen I whipped up a salve.”

            “Okay.  You and Kyle take care and give me a call if you guys need anything.”

            “Garodos.”

            “Sheyn Navic.”  Navic hung up the phone and took a deep breath.  He was afraid and yet eager to finally learn what it was that had caused Kyle to become the man he had grown up to be.  Finally he would learn the truths and full stories behind the vague hints of being forgotten and virtually unloved.

            Slowly Navic walked back to their bedroom since he had gone downstairs to use the phone in the living room.  The trip had given him time to get his thoughts together and to prepare himself for what he knew he would hear.  He didn’t want any of his own possible reactions to give Kyle the wrong idea.  Their path to full spiritual healing would be a long and trying one but Navic was bound and determined that they would make it together no matter what.

            In their bedroom he saw Kyle was sitting in the middle of their bed with his knees drawn to his chest.  He looked like a child that had just woken up from a nightmare which was understandable since he was about to recall a past that he felt that he had barely survived at one point.  Navic almost told Kyle that he didn’t have to tell him anything but he didn’t since he knew that the real healing would only come once Kyle had confided in someone who could share or even take his pain.

            “Kai miya Virena please relax and take your time.  I won’t judge you by your past in any way.  Sho virena desna (I love you) to much to allow the past to change my feelings for you in a negative way.”  Navic said softly as he sat beside Kyle and placed a gentle clawed hand on Kyle’s shoulder being to afraid of any further rejection from Kyle to fully embrace him.

            “I’m afraid.  I’ve fought so hard against telling anyone for so long.”

            “I understand but now you must tell someone or we shall never be able to comfortably remain together.  Have no fear miya Virena I won’t let you fall to deep into painful memories.  I don’t need whole stories only enough information to fully understand.  Should you feel the need to cry or strike out at something then I am here for you.  You may lash out at me without fear.”  Kyle stared at Navic in complete shock.  The demon/elf had just barely survived the unintentional mental beating hour before and now was volunteering to take a physical beating should the shadows of the past prove to much for his own adult mind and make Kyle desire to lash out physically.
