Chapter 11

authors note: Just realized I haven't done a Rapunzel POV for this whole story.......well might as well

Rapunzel's POV

I couldn't speak. My mind was trying to absorb what just happened. The woman who held me in the night when I had bad dreams, the one who kissed my injuries and brushed my hair-. Now it all made sense. She never cared for me, she cared for my hair!

"All this time I've been told by you that I should be afraid of the outside world that people will use me! But when really you were just using me. For eighteen years!" I yelled at her

"Really Rapunzel, stop being so dramatic." She replied.

"Well I've had enough of this family reunion do you have it or not Gothel?" Pitch asked.

"I have some, since the little ice pick ruined it but I was able to gain some of her power." Gothel said showing that underneath her hair started to turn blonde. "This should do."

"What?!" I said. Looking at my hair a few streaks had turned brown.

"Well now all we need is the little winter spirit's power."

"What do you even need my power for?" Jack shouted.

"Well you see there is a very special quality in both your powers. The power of the sun and moon." Pitch said "and what happens when the sun and the moon are together?"

"An eclipse." Rapunzel stated.

"Very good Rapunzel, yes an eclipse which causes darkness, which as you know is my specialty." Pitch chuckled "You see with both of your powers I can make it sure that darkness takes over everywhere."

Nightmares sprouted from the ground and grabbed tightly on my wrist. Replacing them was moth- Gothel tying my hands behind my back.

"Just in case you try to follow us." She said. "Let's go winter sprite."

"No! Please let him go! Please!" I begged.

"It'll be okay Rapunzel." Jack yelled and they disappeared leaving just a trace of black dust.

This is all my fault. I should've believed that Jack would never hurt me. I should've believed in him. Now he's gone. It's all my fault.

"Well are you just going to cry about it?" A voice said.

"Who said that?"

"Look up child." The voice said.

I looked up where the trap door was open and shining was the moons light.

"What?" Then I remembered what Jack had once told me. About the man in the moon talking to him.

"Manny?" I questioned

"Yes, now go Jack needs you."

"What can I do I'm trapped here." I said trying to wriggle my arms free of the tight ropes clutching my wrists.

"Find a way.......the light always finds a way... you just have to believe" He said.

The moonlight no longer was in view of the little trap door.

Okay well first thing is I have to be able to get up. Now usually this would be no problem but with your hands tied behind you it takes a little more balance.

Finally I got to my feet and climbed up the stairs.....very carefully.

"Come on Rapunzel think of something sharp think!" She said.

The letter opener!

I quickly walked to Gothel's room and on her desk there it was.

I turned my body away from the desk so My hands were facing the letter opener. I cautiously picked it up and started to find an angle that wouldn't make me accidentally cut my skin. After a but of fumbling I finally decided that this angle felt safe enough and began to slowly cut into the rope.

I could hear the threads snapping as I started to quicken my cutting pace. Then I felt a rush of pain and relief. The rope was cut off but I had accidentally just grazed my arm.

"Ow ow ow." I said. I found the first aid kit and wrapped the bandages over my wound.

I better keep this. I thought putting the letter opener in the belt of my dress. Just in case I need to use it for protection.

I sprinted to my window and put my hair on the hook. Unlike the first time I jumped without hesitation and swiftly landed to the ground.

But I realized.....I don't know where they have gone. I've only been to my tower and the town they could be anywhere in the world.

"Okay Manny," I looked up at the moon. "You've gotten me this far, how do I find Jack?"

Nothing.

I can see why Jack had gotten frustrated with him.

Okay think what did Manny say before he left.

The light always finds a way

I looked up again and saw in Manny's moonlight a little silhouette. My first instinct was that it was a nightmare coming to finish me off, but then I heard a big belly laugh....... Santa!?

"Incoming!" The sleigh started getting closer. I picked up my hair and flung out of the way.

"Well I've had worst landings." A huge man with a white beard said.

"Dear god mate next time we're taking my way." A big rabbit said.

"Ah you must be Rapunzel!" A fairy like creature said.

"Oh just look at your perfect teeth! I'm Tooth by the way and that's North Bunny and Sandy.

I saw Sandy who lived up to his name. He was a man made completely of sand. He did a little hand wave.

"Ok enough with introductions Manny says we have to save Jack. So hop in...... No pun intended Bunny." North laughed.

I got into the big sleigh.

"Do you know where they took him?" I asked.

"Why of course! Manny told us!" He replied.

"Well I'm glad he gives someone details!" I said as we transported through the snowglobe.

Authors note: holy crap have I been late on my updates. Sorry! January is a busy month...Im preparing for a songwriting competition and I'm at musical rehearsal every tues thurs and Sundays but I promise I'll try to be better on updates!
