Chapter 12

Jack's POV

Back in Pitch's lair...what a surprise. I'm thrown into a cage as I wait for my fate.

"You know Jack you really shouldn't have your power stored in such a careless object." Pitch said.

"Alright let's get on with the spell." Gothel said.

Gothel sung the song backwards once again and the four golden strands started to glow as the power and the golden strands were transferred into my staff.

"Ah the power of the moon and sun. In my hands." Pitch smirked. "You know Jack

"Let's say goodbye to our old friend the moon shall we?"

Rapunzel's POV

Traveling through a snowglobe. So much fun! It felt like every part of me flew off into the sky and was crashing through stars.

My injured hand began to sting so I wrapped my hair around it and sung.

Flower gleam and glow

Let your power shine

Make the clock reverse

Bring back what once was mine

"Ah so it's true you are the sun's child." North said. "And I see you've inherited her song."

"Pitch said something about that me having the sun's power."

"Well you do have some of it in you. The sun gave you the power to live, not only that she gave you the ability to heal." He said

"I forgot to say thank you for saving me. All of you."

"Well it's an honor to be of your services." North replied.

"So this is Pitch's lair?"

"Well the outside of it at least, even from the outside it gives me the creeps." Bunny said.

"So what's the plan?" Tooth asked.

"We defeat Pitch and Gothel and save Jack." I stated.

"Alright but how do we do that?" Bunny asked.

"I was thinking we could improvise." I said weakly.

"Well she is right we don't really have time for making a plan." Tooth said

"Alright let's improvise then!" North yelled running into Pitch's lair.

Jack's POV

"What is that?" Pitch asked.

I to began to feel the rumbling. Rocks started coming down and before I knew it.

CRASH!

"Let him go!" Rapunzel came busting in with the other guardians.

"I would do what she says Pitch, I would not want to get into a fight with her." I smiled.

"Shut up do it now Pitch." Gothel commanded.

Pitch tried to shoot the power into the sky but North blocked him with a sweep of his mighty arm causing The power to ram into a wall and disintegrate.

"Oh no you don't!" North said

"Enough!" Pitch yelled. Nightmares were everywhere grabbing the guardians left from right.

"Let them go or else."

There was Rapunzel, one hand clutching a sharp shiny dagger, the other hand was clutching her own hair.

"We all know you need more of this, so let them go or I get my first haircut." Rapunzel said firmly.

"Now Rapunzel, let's not be so rash." Gothel said.

"No enough! Let my friends go or I'll end it all." She said.

"I wouldn't do that child you see your hair is what keeps you alive. It's the only thing keeping you alive without it's power you'll die." Pitch said.

"Jack I'm so sorry I didn't believe in you, I need you to know that I care for you so much. You deserve to know that, but that's why I have to let you go."

"Rapunzel don't."

"Rapunzel listen to what I just said you will die it won't solve anything ." Pitch said

"But it's keeping you and Gothel alive too.....all these years you've been harvesting my power so without it you both will die out too."

"I'm sorry Jack."

"NO!" I cried out.

One single slash. The shining blade made contact with her hair. Rapunzel's locks had been cut. Her hair transforming from blonde to brunette. Her green eyes grew wide as she began to feel weak. She slowly fell to the ground.

"What have you done!" Gothel screamed.

She began turning old and grey until she became nothing but dust.

Pitch began to shrivel up into nothing but a shadow.

The nightmares disappeared and my staff returned to me. I broke out of my cage with one icy blast. I ran to Rapunzel who lied almost lifeless on the ground.

Her hair was now short and brown, even close to death she was beautiful. I cradled her in my arms. Not knowing what to do to keep her alive, just knowing I wanted to hold her and tell her it's going to be fine.

"Jack.." She stammered.

"I'm hear Punz I'm here it's going to be okay. Don't you die on me."

"I meant what I said and so much more." She said

"You are the greatest thing to ever happen to me.".

"And so were you." She said. Her eyes closed and she was gone.

Authors note: so I definitely came out of my writing block at full speed! This is probably one of the most saddest chapters I've written. Hope you guys don't mind the plot twist with her hair being her life force. Story is not over yet!!! But I shall leave you on a cliffhanger! Remember to vote comment and share!
