Alexandra's POV

With a few more strokes of my brush I finished applying makeup to my once black and purple throat. Apparently "Alpha Business" makes Alphas' patience wear thin.

It's been two months since Jason said I was his mate. Which means, it's my birthday and apparently Jason is going to throw a ball. By ball, I mean the old fashioned dances with huge dresses. Since I'm future Luna, all the packs' Lunas and Alphas are coming to the ball.

I move my neck in a couple different directions to make sure the makeup covered up all of the bruises. Surely enough, they did. I put some makeup beneath my eyes so they look less hollow. I then use black eyeliner to make my brown eyes pop a little. I apply some light mascara, to make my lashes look a little darker, not that they really need it. Lastly, I put on a rosey lipstick.

All in all, it's not bad. Considering, I only started doing my makeup after Jason stated I was his mate. It wasn't my choice, he made me put it on so no one would see what pain he inflicted upon me.

I sighed before I moved on to my hair. My hair had gotten better. It for once didn't look like it died years ago. My hair was a little more complicated than my makeup. It involved a few braids and a lot of curls all pulled together at the back of my head. ((BTW, the picture of her hair is also the color her skin is))

Once I was satisfied with my hair I put my all my makeup back in it's rightful place on my vanity, which Jason had gotten me

Once I was satisfied with my hair I put my all my makeup back in it's rightful place on my vanity, which Jason had gotten me. After I had everything situated, I left the bathroom that connected to Jason's bed room. On the bed a beautiful ball gown was laid out for me along with some red pumps. The gown was made out of satin and matched now red lips.

I've just realized how dull my senses are. Someone was in the next room and I didn't smell them, sense them, or even hear them. I guess it's because I'm a runt. I really need to work on training now that I'm gonna be a Luna. This'll make me a target for other packs and rogues, I'll need to be able to somewhat defend myself.

The dress and shoes surprisingly fit well. I have never worn heels before so I'm a little bit terrified. I didn't particularly like the dress. I don't really think this red goes with my light tan and dark hair. However, every pack has a color or colors that their Luna and Alpha are supposed to wear for special occasions and this pack's happens to be red.

Despite the color, I still didn't like the gown. In my opinion it dragged too much. I'm afraid someone might step on it and I'll land face first making an even bigger fool of myself. Or maybe I'll step on my dress on my own and look like a huge clutz. Or maybe I'll fall down just by simply trying to walk. Millions of worst case scenarios ran through my mind.

I jumped as I was pulled out of my thoughts by someone rapping on the door. I cleared my throat and smoothed out my dress before standing up straight.

"You may enter," I said as smoothly as I could manage.

The door opened only slightly before I motioned for the person to come in. The door opened fully revealing Madam.

Madam was also somewhat dolled up. She had on a simply dark blue gown with straps that crossed in the back accompanied by eyeshadow that matched the dress and pink lips. Her hair was in a bun as per usual but it was much neater.

Her eyes widened as she looked at me. I must have been a terrible sight.

Hair that certainly wasn't up to the occasion. Arms that were very skinny. Makeup that was done very poorly. A dress that was made for a Luna. I looked terrible like this because this isn't how I'm supposed to be. I'm not supposed to be in this gown or in these shoes. These are for a Luna. For a woman mated to the Alpha. This isn't where a runt should be. Not where the pack slave should be. Not where I should be.

I think my worries and nervous show through because Madam quickly smiled at me.

"You look beautiful Luna!" Madam said as she circled me.

"Really? I feel... strange. Maybe I shouldn't go. I think this is too much," I said quietly as I shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other.

"Oh! No no Luna! You look perfect! Absolutely stunning! Not too much and not too little, you look absolutely fantastic!" Madam said with excitement in her eyes and enthusiasm in her voice.

I gave her a small smile and she gave me a huge one of her own.

"Now, we mustn't dilly dally. Everyone can't wait to meet you! You look drop dead gorgeous! They're just gonna eat you up!" Madam squealed with excitement.

I've learned over the past couple months that Madam wasn't all that bad. Don't get me wrong, I don't forgive her and I probably won't ever. She seems more full of life than I thought she would be. She's actually quite pleasant when she's not screaming or hitting me.

I walked into the doors of the huge building decorated in gold and ivory. I didn't necessarily worry about the decore since I was too busy pondering all the awful mistakes I'm going to make.

Madam followed soon after. Jason decided to basically assign her as my personal servant, given my history with her. He says she must "repay" me. Madam doesn't seem to mind, to her she's just getting in good with the future Luna.

I began chewing the inside of my cheek and balling my dress in my hands. I'm absolutely petrified to enter the ballroom and face all the Lunas and Alphas and Betas and Deltas. With an uneasy stomach I swallow hard and stare, with worry making its way to my face, at the door.

Madam removes my hands from the satin and straightens the dress back out before picking up my hands. She gives me a reassuring squeeze and smile. I manage to send one back right before worry settles back into my face.

"Don't worry! You'll do great! You look great too! You look just like the Luna you were born to be!" Madam said as she gave my hands one final squeeze before the doors swung open.

She released me hands and I began to walk forward into the ball room. I kept my previously wobbling knees as straight as possible. I held my head high with my fake confidence as one thought ran through my mind....

I wasn't born to be a Luna....
