What's Up?

I made my way down the halls of the fourth floor and could tell I was close when I heard a loud "FUCK OFF". I had arrived. I took a deep breath, ready to either politely ask them to be quiet, or to shut the fuck up. I wasn't sure which I was going with. I knocked three times and waited. I heard rustling and what sounded like a group of guys exchanging words like "I told you to shut up, cunt" and "You're gonna get him kicked out, ya fuck". I heard one of them coming closer to the door, so I backed up a bit. What the fuck are the doing in there? I heard the doors locks click and the door slowly opened. A shirtless man with a "Game Over" tattoo above his nipple, and long dark blonde hair looked over at me. He looked me up and down before fully meeting my eyes, and looked back into the apartment for a second. He looked back at me.

"What's up?" he asked simply.

"That's just what I was about to ask you. You guys are being really loud, what are you even doing?" I asked him. He looked nice, I guess.

"Do you live next door?" he asked with an accent that was clearly Australian.

"No. Just moved in downstairs about an hour ago. But I could hear you guys loud and clear through my ceiling, you live right above me." I said, trying to get a peak into his apartment. It looked messy, was that spaghetti on the walls?

"Oh I don't live here. My friend does, though. You wanna talk to him?" he looked back into the apartment, and looked like he was waving someone over but no one seemed to be responding.

"Sure, yeah." I tried to look into the apartment and this time the man noticed, closing the door a little more. He looked back into the room again, then back to me.

"Give him a second, yeah?" he said. I nodded. He shut the door, hard. I don't know how I feel about these guys yet, they don't seem rude...but not very, nice? I guess? I heard indistinct talking and what sounded like someone changing. I put my ear against the door, trying to hear more clearly. Suddenly, the door swung open. I nearly fell over onto a dark haired man wearing a white T-shirt and black jeans.

"Woah," he said, laughing a little. "Don't hurt yourself there." My face reddened a bit, but I composed myself quickly so I could get this over with. I looked up at him, though he was taller than me, he was shorter than the first guy. His face was tired, and his hair looked like it had be quickly fixed and hung a little in front of one of his eyes. "Cute..." I thought to myself. I remembered why I was here, and I looked him in the eyes. He had a slight smile playing on his lips, which were also very, very nice. I snapped out of it again and furrowed my eyebrows.

"You guys are super fucking loud." I said.

"We get that a lot." He said, smiling.

"Well can you like, stop? Or quiet down a bit?" I was taken aback by his confidence. "I just moved in and I need a little peace, at least for the rest of the night, you know?"

"Just moved in? Next door?" he asked me.

"No downstairs, like directly under you." he looked at me a little harder after I said that. He studied my face before looking me up and down. His eyes made their way back to mine, and when they met he sighed with a quick smile.

"What's your name?"

"Y/N. Yours?" I stuck out my hand.

"George. Call me Joji, though." he shook my hand. A man opened the door wider so I could see the full view of the room, and he hung an arm over Joji. The stranger had medium length wavy hair, and looked younger than Joji and the first guy I met. I looked at the room. I could see the kitchen, which was littered with empty spaghetti cans. There was food on the walls, and all over the floor. What.

"Chad wants to know if we're done for tonight or not." he said, slurred. Like the first guy I met, he was Australian as well. He was trashed. Joji quickly shoved him off and slammed the door, leaving him and I alone in the hallway. He was red in the face and forced a laugh.

"Yeah we're gonna clean that up, it usually doesn't look like that." he said to me, referring to his apartment. I didn't want to know what they were doing tonight and if they were done or not, so I didn't pry. "So you live in 350, then?" he asked me.

"Yeah. Just got here today."

"So did you live in New York prior to today or no?

"No, but I've always loved the city. Don't know much about it, though." He smiled after I said that. "What?" I looked at him, smiling back.

"I'll help you explore it then. I mean, you look like you're good on your own, but I'd love the company." he said.

"You look like you've got plenty of it." I replied.

"The boys? They're just visiting me." he stated. My phone started to ring. H/N was lit shown on the screen. Shit, I hadn't even checked in with my boyfriend all day. I looked up at Joji, who was looking at my phone. He looked- sad?

"I uh, I gotta take this. Sorry. It was nice meeting you." I waved at him while turning to leave.

"I'll come down later if you want, or if you need any help or anything! Or you could come up, yeah?" he said, trying to follow me down the hall.

"Hello?" I answered the call.

"Hey babe, what's up?" H/N asked. "I haven't heard from you all day."

"Yeah, sorry about that. Unpacking and all that. I've just been trying to get settled in."

"Well I can come up on Saturday if you want, it's only a four hour drive and I wanna see your place!"

"Uh, sure, yeah! That works. I don't start work till Monday anyways." I looked down the hall before heading down the stairs, and saw that Joji had went back into his apartment.

"Okay. Well, I'll you go then. Text me when you can."

"Alright cool."

"Love you." he said quickly.

"Yeah love you too!" I hung up, and went back into my apartment.
