Your P.O.V

We were all packed into Joji's car, on the way to Walmart. Joji tried his best to get me to sit in the passenger's seat so I could be next to him, but I chose to sit in the backseat between Ian and Max. I had a lot on my mind, and I honestly didn't want to focus on Joji.

"So do you like New York so far, Y/N?" Max asked me.

"I mean, I really haven't seen much of the city. It's been alright so far, though." I replied. I stared at my hands.

"Maybe we can all go out tonight then, yeah?" he asked anyone else who was listening.

"I could go out for drinks." Ian replied to him. I turned to face Ian, who wasn't wearing his glasses today. He smiled over to Max, and then looked at me. "We gotta celebrate all the time we have with Georgey boy over here." he slapped the top of Joji's head, and they all laughed. Joji was laughing too, and I caught him taking the opportunity to look at me in the visor mirror. I looked away, but I saw the smile from his face drop as I did so. We all joked and talked for the rest of the ride, though Joji never replied to the things I would say. I did the same to him. I was getting along really well with Ian, and he seemed to think I was really funny. I caught Joji looking back at me a few times, though the eye contact was never kept.

"Alright, let's get this over with." Chad said, exiting the car. We all got out and stretched our arms and legs after being cramped in the car. Joji led the group inside, Chad and Max following him closely. Ian and I fell back a little, having a separate conversation.

"I like New York better than LA, I'd never live here though." he pushed his hand through his hair. He really was cute. "It gets cold here."

"I like the changing of seasons though, you don't really get that in LA." I said to him.

"That's true." we walked in silence for a bit. "So, what do you think of George?"

"What, are we in fifth grade?"

"Yeah, do you like-like him?" he smiled towards the boys in front of us. We were almost at the entrance of the store.

"I mean, he's great. I dunno. I just broke up with my boyfriend yesterday, and it was pretty dramatic on it's own. I don't want any more drama or to worry about anyone else except for myself right now, you know?" I said, and I watched Joji look behind his shoulder, flashing a light smile at me. I looked at Ian.

"Well, you're great too. You deserve someone much better than your ex. I can't believe he did that to you." he gestured towards my face. I ran my hands over my cuts.

"Yeah, fuck that. I'm just glad he's gone." At this point, the boys had already picked a few things out. They called us over to help them, and Joji was clearly ignoring me. I don't blame him though, I'd been pretty neutral to him all day.

"Yo Y/N, come here." Max called from the aisle next to where I was. I turned the corner to see him on a bright pink tricycle, next to a matching tricycle with a free seat. "Wanna ride these babies around the store with me?"

"Hell yeah." I walked over and sat down on the bike, bending my knees an ungodly amount to peddle. We slowly peddled around the aisles, trying to ram into each other occasionally. Max was in front of me, about to turn the corner to another aisle. I heard Chad, Joji, and Ian laughing. Max had gone around the corner too fast and toppled off of his tricycle, and was sprawled out on the floor.

"Jesus Christ." he said, propping himself up. I got off my bike and walked over to him, helping him up.

"That's what happens when you're too cool." I said, laughing at him.
