Laurance's P.O.V

I slid down the brick wall. I let out a massive groan, as crimson blood spilled out of the bullet wound in my stomach. I took my phone out, and started to dial the emergency number. As I typed the second number, I realised something. I was going to die. Why bother spending what time i had left talking to someone i probably didn't know? I quickly began to type in a different number. His number. Garroth's number. If I was going to die, I wanted to spend my last moments talking to someone important. Who more important than my husband?

"H-hey Garroth, it's me, Laurance. How're you?" I said, trying to sound as causal as possible. I didn't want him to worry about me, after all.

"Hey Laurance, I'm fine. You nearly done at the station then?" His voice sounded heavenly right now.  "Why're you calling me anyway? You don't normally call, you just kinda come home."

"What? Is talking to the most important person in my life a crime now?" I tried to keep my voice from wobbling.

".... Laurance, are you ok?" Garroth sounded so worried.

"Yeah I'm fine, don't worry about me, ok? I'll be home soon anyways." Everything I could see was starting to get darker. My time was nearly out.

"Yeah, if you say so."

"I have to go now, j-just know I love you, ok?" Tears started to flow from my eyes, I didn't want to go yet.

"...I love you too, see ya when you get home."

"Y-yeah I'll see you then." I then hung up. I could hardly see. And then, my heartbeat stopped.

Garroth's P.O.V

I put the phone away. I was a little uneasy because of Laurance's phone call. I'd just have to trust him. He always came home.

~time skip half an hour~

I was starting to panic now. He still wasn't home. No phone calls, nothing. And then, my phone rang.

"Yeah hello? This is Garroth Romeave, who is this?" I tried to keep calm.

"Hello, this is deputy Mike, I'm from the police department that your husband Laurance works at... I have some unfortunate news."

"... What happened?" My voice lost all emotion. I felt complete drained.

"Laurance was shot and killed on duty. He died about half an hour ago. I'm sorry." The officer hang up. I put the phone down. And then I slid down against a wall, crying.
