Larroth UP beginning

So this ones based on the beginning scene of UP, with Carl and Eillie. Because sadness. Also may be OOC. Focusing on the hospital scene. So LETS GO!!

Garroth P.O.V (because I seem to like killing Laurance off despite him being my favourite character...)

I walked into the hospital room, my once blonde hair had turned grey, and my joints were stiff. But I was doing better than he was, although I'm not happy about it.

"Hey Laur." I said quietly, as I walked over to his bedside. When he looked over to me, his eyes swelled with happiness, his smile seemed timeless. It reminded me of easier days, days before worrying that his time would end at any minute...

-flashback-

"Come ON Garroth! Just a little further!" Laurance shouted as he sprinted up the hill, his brown hair flowing slightly in the soft breeze. His eyes were so alive, his smile so bright. I loved his smile, and I always will. I chuckled to myself.

"Calm down! I'm not as fast as you..." I retorted, making my way up the hill, a bright smile on my face, my golden hair blowing into my face. I made it up to the tree, where I sat down next to him on the springy grass. We unloaded the picnic basket and began to eat, watching the sky above.

Eventually, I had Laurance's head in my lap, my fingers in his hair. Nothing else mattered, nothing else existed beyond the hill, sky and the tree. And the birdsong, I won't forget the birdsong...

-end flashback-

"Hey Gar." Laurance's weak voice brought me back to reality, though I'd much rather stay in the past. With him. I wasn't looking forward to the future, it all just seemed to bleak, too horrible to accept.

"Anything interesting happen while I was gone?" I asked him, clutching his hand in mine.

"Someone came in with a dog, that was about it." He clutched my hand tighter.

"Can you possibly tell me about the dog? It was a dog, you have to elaborate!" I tried my hardest to smile, to act happy. It wasn't easy. I was happy to be with him, of course. But it all just seemed so finite. I guess because I knew it was going to end...

"It was a golden retriever I think, really happy. Her name was Joy, which really suited her. She was lovely, a giant goofball, like someone else I know." Laurance gave a weak laugh, before going into a coughing fit.

"A-are you okay Laurance? O-oh please be o-okay..." I whimpered. I felt utterly helpless, as I did whenever something like this happened... Whenever he was sick, really.

-flashback-

"Oh w-would you PLEASE just take the medicine, you're SICK dammit!" I pleaded with a very stubborn, very sick Laurance, who simply brushed his brown hair out of his eyes and said.

"No." He said with a very sick sounding voice. Similar to a dying frog. Or something like that.

"Why?!?"

"Because it tastes horrible!"

"Yeah but it'll make you better, OK? Please, for me?" And just in case my pleading voice full of despair didn't work, I paired it up with some powerful Romeave puppy eyes.

"I've lived with you and been married to you for six years now and the puppy eyes still get me..." Laurance grumbled, and took the medicine.

"Thank you, now budge over some, I want cuddles."

"Yeah, but you might get sick as well."

"Well at least I'll take medicine without complaining." I smirked. He moved over a bit, and I sat down pulling him to my chest.

-end flashback-

"I'm f-fine. This h-happens all the time n-now..." Laurance said through a few smaller coughs. He'd coughed up a little blood, which rightfully worried me. I clutched his hand tighter. "I don't think I have much longer hon..."

"Don't." I replied, tears stinging my eyes. I didn't want to say goodbye, but it looks like I won't have a choice.

"I love you, thanks for making my life amazing." Laurance said, his voice fading. The heart monitor flatlined. The grip of his hand in mine loosened. I closed his eye lids, tears falling freely.

"I'll be with you soon, Laur."
